23.01.2022 Are you or someone you know having trouble eating? Do you have trouble getting food on your fork? Are you pushing food off your plate? Is your plate sliding on your table? Have a look at these ideas. In the photo is a non slip placemat, a plate guard and a built up, bendable fork. (Yes, you can also get bendable spoons too!) If you would like some help on what aids would suit your needs or would like to know where to purchase these, please get in touch on 0411 258 620.

22.01.2022 *** FOOT OPERATED SCOOTER*** It has been a long and arduous journey for Trish (and me) to find a scooter and supplier that could provide a piece of equipment that represents a perfect alignment between PERSON - OCCUPATION - ENVIRONMENT. After months of advocating to get to this point, I think we have it!!! Check out the video attached to see what an awesome woman Trish is! https://www.facebook.com/scootersandmobilityriverina/videos/495646614694126/?__tn__=kCH-R&eid=ARByChhK...aNIg1D3pwwpOgVRlrLWe5QkL3cRaR8Cy4TQrE8P9PbJDR9lZzKEuZns1E20Fzt2561P3ozeJ&hc_ref=ARRmoVhiNsj1mgiVSdU_e7euzDUefu4myp6u_j8nG2rgr1uXraqVtU6geab60_-TlB0&fref=nf&__xts__[0]=68.ARBpG6GE3adOrU5gYBAy3VAaZUp6_ko5Wbbbrcz5kGlifs-TPtJYdpPVCg0TRIPndPaKihaFYrN_g2YNmhl4m6Qq3ChEtm344-zE0o_RK3KHUmBB5DFidaJm-kwDBuMBVA1TaKs20InHw18OZw4zE_P3SPmZdDV6jsuw6PcnLwi09ACTdXiWLuJVVEagsMB8ocedE2x4pPzo7u7ckh72oBo7831MPAw2evcs73TPgXR9k5YrExt30snUoQff9RyPb0d1xHeeMbxp0fwow-c8KRrnYZ8p2NFQ20UMFHluqUiKy3vD_MjD1v01FlXml4RHxIbNYKfxhHRIesbGZC7-EiHo8jxiLqpFGt5KknCjvfk6sGDn5w See more

17.01.2022 Another amazing bathroom modification completed! This one is thanks to Garnish Projects! Great job guys!!! (Still a few minor touches still to be completed, but 99% there). Here are some before and after shots. If you need complex modifications through your Home Care Package or NDIS plan, get in touch!

17.01.2022 Today I had the opportunity to review the final product of a complex modification for an NDIS client. My client had a below knee amputation and was having trouble removing his prosthesis then entering/exiting his shower. Here are some before and after pics. He even commissioned a secret beer fridge (not covered by NDIS funding!). ... If you are: - at risk of falling over - having trouble entering/exiting your shower - have a bath that is redundant and you need extra space - not able to mobilise with a walking aid in your space Give Bek a call and discuss your options! 0411 258 620

17.01.2022 Great opportunity close to home!!!

16.01.2022 Hi everyone. In light of the situation concerning COVID-19, I would just like to reassure everyone that ADL Therapies is still operational. I would like to report that I am taking the necessary precautions and will remain working unless I fall sick, a member of my family falls sick or I am advised that I can no longer practice as an occupational therapist at this time. I have taken some time out today to complete the Infection Control Training - COVID-19 and COVID-19 Persona...l Health certificates with QLD Health. I understand at this time that some of my clients are self isolating and all I ask if that my client's cancel as soon as they have made a decision not to have me at their home to allow me to accommodate others on my waiting list. I wish everyone the best and hope that I can continue to support the aged and disability clients that I have grown to adore. Keep safe and look out for your neighbours! xxx

16.01.2022 BEFORE AND AFTER - BATHROOM I love the change from a daily struggle to a functional bathroom! I also love the personal touches the client has requested. If you need assistance with an NDIS application or a home assessment for modifications - get in touch!

16.01.2022 I never thought this day would come. After fighting @ndis for 14 months I finally have my foot driven scooter. There has been so much frustration & tears waiti...ng for it, why is #ndis so hard? This is the only foot driven scooter like this in Australia. A very big thank you to Michael from Scooters and Mobility Riverina who has been absolutely brilliant with service and advice even though we are in different States of Australia. 1,286klms away!! Michael delivered my scooter in person yesterday which was a 14 hour drive each way for him. That's service.. Also thank you to Bek, my OT from ADL Therapies for writing all those reports and banging her head on the NDIS wall with me. So if you are fighting #NDIS remember there is always hope, despite them nearly killing me with stress. I need a name for her, what are your suggestions? Have a great day, Trish

16.01.2022 I love learning and seeing what additions are made to the assistive technology field. Yesterday I was shown this amazing device. For those who have experienced a nerve pathology, stroke, ligament injury, joint deformity etc. this glove can be worn to passively range joints, open up a hand to facilitate function, allow for therapy, fabrication of splints and much more! If you want to know more about hand related issues please get in touch 0411 258 620 Bek

14.01.2022 I'd love to encourage my past and present clients to write a review on Google (or here on Facebook) to help this small business grow! Thank you!

14.01.2022 I don't normally post these kind of requests on my business page, though I am sharing this fundraiser far and wide. Please consider donating to this cause. Thank you!

13.01.2022 This makes my heart sing! What beautiful and kind souls! What an experience to share!

13.01.2022 Exciting news!!!! ADL Therapies is ready to expand. Are you an OT wanting a change or do you know someone who is.... Get in touch! https://www.seek.com.au/job/50900979

13.01.2022 Something so simple. A grab rail to help get off the toilet. Why is it vertical you ask???? If possible, I will almost always recommend a vertical grab rail (unless there is some underlying joint issues or absence of a suitable stud). Considering biomechanics, your hand/wrist/elbow and shoulder are in their strongest position when holding a vertical rail when sitting. If you have any trouble with transfers (getting on/off something - bed/chair/toilet) let me come assess your home environment to see if we can make this simple task easier for you.

13.01.2022 Hi everyone, I have just been notified that the 'Contact Us' form on my website isn't working. I've missed out on a few messages it seems. 12.01.2022 Whether masks are mandatory or a personal choice... these masks are a great idea!

12.01.2022 My family and I took a trip to Woorim surf beach today. Did you know this beach offers an accessible beach mat and beach wheelchairs for hire?!? 10.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder that as ADL Therapies operates in the Moreton Bay region, Monday 10/8/2020 is a public holiday. Services resume 11/8/2020! Thank you and have a lovely long weekend!

09.01.2022 What is occupational therapy? It's a question I'm sure all OT's get quite a bit. We think of occupations as daily tasks/activities that you want or have to engage in. First, we will ask you what your goal is and if you don't have one, we will work together to figure out what you would like to achieve. We then look at adapting either the PERSON (you) by changing the way you do that task or approach the task, ENVIRONMENT (the room and space in which you do the task) - either b...y modifying it or changing the set up, or OCCUPATION (the task you are doing) by doing that task differently - maybe through the use of assistive technology. Here at ADL Therapies, I work together side by side with you, by helping you establish your health and life goalsand then working with you to find the interventions, technology, and equipment that work best for you to get you back into the tasks you want to be doing. If you have any questions, or if you think that you would benefit from occupational therapy - get in touch!

08.01.2022 I am currently on annual leave until Monday 13th July 2020. If you make contact with ADL Therapies during this time, I will get back to you as soon as I am able on my return. Enjoy the school holidays!!

07.01.2022 Are you aware of the changes the NDIA want to make? Not only does this take away choice and control for your choice of provider, it states that a report will be written based on a 20 minute observation of the client. In no world is 20 minutes enough to assess a client to write a report to detail what type, amount and form of support they need for their whole life. ... Please read the document in the link below and consider signing this petition! https://teamdsc.com.au/resources/independent-assessments Thank you!

06.01.2022 Wow! This would be revolutionary!

05.01.2022 STOP Liberal privatisation of the NDIS. Forcing Australians with a disability into a one-size-fits-all 'Independent Assessment' scheme, set to be run by a multinational company.
