18.01.2022 Some colleagues and I are working on a resource for Australian community music organisations, based on the one available from Chorus America, to identify and discuss how COVID-19 is impacting your group and what you are doing to plan for it. This resource is NOT advice of what to do, but simply a discussion tool for your organisation. We recommend that you get in touch with your individual insurers and follow your own risk assessments in the coming weeks and months, and follo...w the advice of your relevant government health department. Questions are designed to get you thinking about how this may impact your group. Answer as much or as little as suits. You can read more or complete the form here: http://adminforthearts.com.au//your-music-ensemble-and-co/

17.01.2022 I am thrilled announce that I will be the new administrator for KMEIA Vic. I have begun the handover from Stockdale ACS who served Kodly Victoria exceptionally for many years. I have a soft spot in my heart for Kodly Australia, and wear my solfa nerd badge with pride. I am looking forward to working with the Vic branch to continue to provide their members a wide range of courses and workshops to support excellence in music education.

13.01.2022 Welcome to Music Education Alliance Victoria. We are working for you to create a unified voice for our sector. We've established a Board and Sub-Committees incl...uding Communications, Research and Risk Mitigation, meeting weekly to action a range of measures. Board reps have met with the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI) and a DET representative to raise the importance of music, our concerns with the current restrictions and our willingness to work collaboratively to create workable solutions. Our views were very well received and we are now seeking a meeting with DHHS. The Risk Mitigation team has drafted a detailed plan for a phased, full return of music education. This will be presented to DHHS and DET. The Research team has compiled a wealth of international research, reports and papers on COVID-19 as it relates to music education. Board and Sub-Committee members are actively reaching out to parliamentarians on both sides to raise your concerns. Letters have been sent to Ministers of Health, Education and Arts, and the Chief Health Officer, offering our professional expertise as music educators and researchers to collaboratively create a roadmap back to full music participation. We look forward to keeping you up to date. Please invite your colleagues to like this page and share this post widely with your network.

02.01.2022 My heart is with all those affected by the horrific fires across so much of our country. My family and I were fortunate to leave Mallacoota, where we were holidaying, on Monday 30/12 - shortly before the road was closed. We are thankful to be home safe, but are devastated for the communities and wildlife who will feel the impact of this crisis for a long time to come. Our hearts are with you. I had advertised that the office would re-open today, however I will be working sh...orter hours this week to spend more time with my family. my husband and son walking along Bastion Beach 29/12/19
