Qantas will also be in touch to change or cancel flights for September only at this stage. 19.01.2022 Qantas continues to review its network in light of the impact COVID-19 has had on travel demand right across the country with ongoing border restrictions for so...me routes. Adjustments to the airline’s turboprop network in Queensland will see its Q200 aircraft, which service Lord Howe Island, solely operate out of Sydney. This means customers wishing to travel between Brisbane and Lord Howe Island when Queensland border restrictions ease will be able to do so by connecting on flights via Sydney. 13.01.2022 Lord Howe Island Board COVID-19 UPDATE Friday 31 July 2020 Confirmation has just been received that the Minister for Health has signed a new Public He...alth Order (No.3) for Lord Howe Island. The Order will effectively continue restrictions on travel to the island until 31 August. Details will be further confirmed when the Order is able to be viewed. However, it is apparent that: Persons wishing to access Lord Howe Island will continue to need approval and will be subject to quarantine in the same fashion as has applied up until now. Those arriving before 31 August will need to complete their full 14 days quarantine effectively meaning that some people’s quarantine will continue until 14 September. Both Qantas and Eastern Air Services have been waiting to hear news and will be managing how to deal with those who have booked flights who might not be now able to arrive on-island. : @iancrolfe See more

05.01.2022 OUR FIRST TWO TRIP ADVISOR REVIEWS SINCE WE RECENTLY RE-OPENED - REALLY APPRECIATE THEM XXXX Location, location, location We have just returned from a fabulous week on Lord Howe Island. Having been before, and loved it, we enticed friends to join us. Admiralty Apartments was perfect. There are only two apartments. They are within an easy stroll to Ned's beach which we had to ourselves each morning. The apartments are very well stocked and extremely comfortable. We wanted for... nothing. The kitchen had every appliance we needed and the welcome hamper saw us through several days. The chairs, inside and out, were comfortable and inviting. There are books to read, games to play, DVDs to watch if you wish. The bathroom is also thoughtfully well stocked. The shower was delightful. We chose to eat in most nights which was perfect. Wine and cheese on the front apartment's deck at 6pm followed by dinner of bring your own. The local king fish, cooked on bbq was divine. Simple life. Unlike on previous visits fresh produce was easily available. The apartments are handy to the village and also provide a great starting point to all activities. We did go to the Tuesday seafood night at the golf club. The food was lovely and the sunset topped it off. Grace, Steve, Jesse and Gina could not have been more attentive but not intrusive. We know if we are ever lucky enough to return to this fabulous island, Admiralty is where we will stay. Private oasis of convenience and comfort Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in October 2020 NEW Grace, Steve & Jessie enabled us to have wonderful stay at Admiralty Apartments. Their place is spotless and the standard of all amenities is high, with everything to make a comfortable, convenient stay possible. We loved having the snorkelling equipment at our disposal to use at Ned’s Beach, just a two minute walk through the palm trees, and having the bicycles to be able to explore the island. Picnics on Neds were another highlight, with the well equipped basket & esky making making it easy and comfortable. The location is perfect, being so close to the beach and a less than 10 minute stroll into ‘town’ . Grace, Steve & Jessie we’re so generous with advice & information, much appreciated & we hope to be back another day to enjoy this little slice of paradise once more. Date of stay: October 2020

The Woodhen was alarmingly close to extinction in 1980 when numbers declined to a population of only 16 because of human exploitation and predation by introduced pigs and cats.... But thanks to the most successful conservation program for an Australian vertebrate, today the population of this flightless endemic species has been restored to at least 245 individuals. 01.01.2022 One of our last fabulous reviews before having to close - very sad: Died and gone to heaven Before COVID-19 changed travel for the immediate future, we were lucky enough to spend seven nights at this absolutely sensational accommodation. The apartment we stayed in was very comfortable, extremely well appointed and had the right mix of beach casual and luxury style that made it clear that you were staying somewhere special. ... Fantastic location, just above Ned's Beach, and nestled in amongst the lush vegetation. Could easily walk to the main shops and lagoon. Our hosts were exceptional and could not have been more helpful. They seem to have thought of everything, and helped make a great stay even better. We are very keen to make a return visit, when the world returns to some type of normal.
