24.01.2022 We are really proud to be working on these Awards with our client. It's been a humbling experience to see the fantastic heroes that have come out of our last 12 months. If you need assistance: ... bringing your event to an online space producing a video like this engaging VIP's, or your own people, to produce content distributing via social media or "pivoting" your event sponsorship Then please reach out. We can help you. This doesn't have to be stressful for you in these challenging times.

21.01.2022 In just 24 hours, organically on Facebook, we had reached 22,600 people, the post had 2,900 engagements and with 7,400 people viewing the video. On just the first day!!! Why? ... How you say? Well that was part of the plan, to increase the number of eyeballs on the event, through online presence. In case we don't get the opportunity to have the same number of people in the room at the event. We are actively working towards building our case with our sponsors and partners to continue supporting the event. Showing them value in other places, some which are completely new this year, due to the circumstances we all find ourselves in. Are you making the most of what you have in front of you? Are you building stronger relationships with your key event stakeholders? If not, then speak with us, we can help you build, so that you can be stronger too. #nonprofits #notforprofit #charity #events

21.01.2022 The more the merrier we say. That's something that has been instilled in me by my family from a young age. We have a weird and wonderful family, our family tree is complex, and a family get together is an event in itself. ... The approach though has always been that everyone is welcome, always be good to people and inclusive. I've spent the majority of my events career either working within or on behalf of non-profits. (This includes not-for-profit, charities, associations and government) So my opportunity to meet and work with fantastic people, many of whom volunteer their time, has been far reaching over the years. Everyone working at Admire Events has either worked within, on behalf of or volunteered with non-profits (many all three). However, it was my six year old son that inspired me to take the leap and launch Thankless Hearts. He'd started Kindergarten in 2019 and as a parent I thought the harder years of school would come later. When they hit you up to help them with difficult complex homework that you have to stretch your brain back decades to conjure up some vague memory of the answers. Not so! They hit you straight out of the gate with all the big life questions in Kindergarten. More to come tomorrow....

20.01.2022 Pet hate = use the day with the date!! Who has a photographic memory of a calendar up to 12 months in advance? Without knowing the exact stats, we're going to go out on a limb, and say it's going to be very few people in this world. Then why, when you are marketing your event would you not include the day of the week with the date? ... As a parent I know my families weekly routine off the top of my head. I know some days of the week are automatically easier for me to make an additional personal or professional commitment to than other days. Imagine you have me where you want me, looking at your marketing information about your event, and you've listed the date but not the day. I LEAVE your marketing to check my calendar, because my photographic calendar vision has failed me, and I have full intention of coming back to you but... You can fill in the blank about what the distraction might be. In fact, what the distraction was is irrelevant. You've lost me, you had me and it was so simple to keep me, but... you didn't. If you want to make sure you don't miss the basics with getting people to your event we can help you. Reach out at [email protected]. #eventprofs #nonprofit #charity #events

19.01.2022 We've been working with a fantastic business based out of the USA that focuses on Business Automation. Over the last few months we've been running their online networking within their business community for them. It's been fabulous and we've received great feedback but the best bit is that Lindsey really knows her stuff. ... Everyone in her business community love her because she just gives so much value !! Lindsey is running a 5 Day Automation Challenge for FREE at the end of July. If you've ever wondered how automation could help your business, or maybe you just need some ideas on where to even start, I'd highly recommend joining this challenge next week. Hope to see you in the community! https://buff.ly/3jyITDq #business #automation #getstuffdone

18.01.2022 Happy Father's Day! We love and appreciate the Father's and those that play the role of a Father figure in our lives.

18.01.2022 The spring has come, the time of new birth and rejuvenation! Autumn and Winter of 2020 has been heavy. It's certainly weighed us down. We are loving the lightness that comes with Spring and looking forward to a brighter future as we move towards the Summer. ... How was your Autumn and Winter? Does the idea of Spring bring you some positive vibes?

17.01.2022 True or false? What are your thoughts on this? It's something that's come up a number of times in the last week or so. ... A consistent theme of time management being an issue with the Non-Profits that are in our circle. So we're putting it out there for feedback. Love to know your thoughts.

16.01.2022 What is your process for planning events? Do you even have a process? For us, we find when there isn't a simple easy to follow process in place things can very quickly go astray. Overwhelm can set in and before you know it you are spinning your wheels but getting no where fast. ... We follow this process for each step of planning your event as well as the event overall. Communicate and Plan Execute and Deliver Review and Refine The trick is you can't get stuck on any one step in the process. It's circular, requires constant forward motion and appropriate distribution of your time. If you are stuck or spinning your wheels and not going anywhere. Then please feel free to book a time to chat with one of our Event Managers. Book here https://buff.ly/2vYpPKG

14.01.2022 When you are just starting out with your event you need to cover the "Essentials". Things like: Setting event objectives... Key milestone timeline Budget (incl. three forecast scenarios) Sponsorship prospectus Marketing strategies identified Supplier engagement top tactics shared Event socials* These are all of the areas that we helped John set up for his first time event, as part of our Event Essentials package, this time last year. John was able to take these foundational documents and learnings, that we prepared with him over a six week period, and then run with managing his event himself. He was able to follow the plans we set out for him and his Gala Dinner was a fantastic success on 5 March 2020. That was the level of support that he needed and could afford last year. This year...... John still has those essential documents and planning, which to a certain extent can be replicated. Now we have just started working with John in an Event Coach capacity. This year John needs help with Refining his strategy Keeping his overwhelm in check (especially with COVID-19) Providing guidance on the best way forward Mapping out multiple scenarios so that he is prepared for anything, even COVID restrictions, to ensure the event goes ahead Remaining accountable to get "all the things" done in the timeframes that they need to be and the order required Ensuring that his 2021 event is COVID Safe with the regulations at the time of the event So the best fit for John for his 2021 event is our Event Coach package. We can work with together to ensure his event is another huge success, no matter what format it takes, and it's at a budget and commitment level that John feels comfortable with. Creating win win service approaches with our clients is something we are passionate about. If you need help and it falls outside of the traditional "end to end event management" service offering make sure you reach out.

12.01.2022 This question has come up over the past week. Do you consider yourself to be a creative person? To be honest, I don't know. ... Maybe? In some ways? Can I draw, no, not really. Can I paint, never. Do I write, poorly. Then, other than noticing a negative self talk pattern, I noticed that I wasn't focusing on the things that I can do creatively. Certainly the last six months in the events industry we've had to stretch our collective creative brains. Being solution focused and methodical in our approach doesn't mean that we haven't had to get creative to make events happen, in whatever format that's looked like. If you are focused on the things you can't do with your event then you are never going to get creative and focus on the things that you can. Got a creative block? Reach out to us at [email protected] and we can help.

12.01.2022 When my son started school I thought we had time before we got hit with the hard questions. Not so! I must admit I was unprepared for some of the big philosophical questions, which developed in lengthy discussions, in a simplistic vocab as he explored his own understanding of the world. ... It was in November of 2019 on our way home from school one afternoon, the memory is still really clear for me mid turn going around the roundabout, when he drop a big one that made me stop my train of thought. He said "Mum, are there more good people or bad people in this world?" It made me think. Why has he asked this question? What has happened for him to ask this? Has he seen something? Heard something? Are there so many things flashing up in everyday society that has made him question the portion of good people versus bad people in this world? The mum guilt crept in and I thought, have I failed him as a mum and not shown him enough positive role models in his life? Because to me the answer was easy. How could I help him process his thoughts so that I could show him the good and help him to understand where I was coming from. I'll drop you a post tomorrow with my response to my son.

12.01.2022 Today we wanted to ask, R U OK? Yes, it is a huge campaign that has widespread momentum so maybe you are thinking this is a question that just ticks the box for the stock standard obligatory post. It’s not. ... It is real. It is genuine. This year for the events industry and anyone running an event has been tough. We have seen businesses close, some temporarily, and some are gone forever. There has been missed opportunities with events to generate income, to educate, to advocate, to celebrate and to grieve. People have been stood down. Some are left in limbo waiting. Many in their spare time have lost their way, their purpose, while others are peddling triple time to hold things afloat with reduced resources. So, if you read this the first time and did not think it applied to you or that it was not being said with empathy or compassion, we will ask again. R U OK? In case you are nervous to start the conversation, we will. Some days we are ok, some days we are not ok, and that is totally ok. #ruokday #events #eventprofs

10.01.2022 Supporting Non-Profits with limited funds It's people, like John and Michelle, who often are so passionate, that they will fund the initial start up of their Non-Profit event. They'll take a chance, a leap of faith, because what they are trying to achieve with their event is so fundamentally important to them. ... We have the Thankless Hearts community on Facebook that was started for people exactly like John and Michelle. People with big hearts who are willing to give it a go with running an event, outside of their own comfort zone, because what that event represents to them is something far greater. If you are someone, or know someone, with a big heart, that isn't looking for thanks, for the events they run in the Non-Profit world, please join our free Facebook group to gain support in your journey. We'd love to see you inside the community and sharing what is the cause you are supporting with your event.

06.01.2022 Yes!! We're included in this!! All the planning in the world didn't really prepare everyone for this year!! Main thing though is, what are you going to do with it?

05.01.2022 I'd been toying around with the idea for most of 2018 and 2019! It was a passion project. My son's question changed all of that when he asked ... "Mum, are there more good people or bad people in the world?". My response went something like..... "Mate, you know how sometimes people make bad choices? (Phrase he learnt at daycare and he still uses when his little brother does something!) Well I think most people are good people, sometimes they make bad choices because no one is perfect, but generally most people are good and have big hearts." It made me think of all the people in the non-profit sector that I've worked with and how big their hearts are. They continue to give thanklessly to the efforts and endeavours they are so passionate about, for the greater good of their communities and society in general. I decided then and there that it was time to make it happen. To build an endless list of fantastic people, so that when my son asks me again about the level of "goodness" in this world I have a plethora of unique examples and stories I can share with him. Please encourage anyone you know, with a big heart that isn’t looking for thanks, who are running Non-Profit events on their own, to join our Facebook community. https://buff.ly/2YU4dug
