19.01.2022 We arrived for a gardening day before our weekend guests arrived. Adogma’s Cottage has old and well established gardens. There are lovely tall trees and pretty smaller shrubs. The backyard is a safe and secluded place for you and your furkids.

18.01.2022 Even though we are all suffering because of the drought and our Tamborine spring water is being removed for commercial purposes, which is effecting our rainforests, we are still cooler and greener than down below. The garden at Adogma’s always holds surprises.

14.01.2022 Hey friends of Adogma’s Cottage, markets are on this Sunday and they are pet friendly. It was getting dry on the mountain and we have had our second load of water delivered in 6 yrs. Garden is looking lovely.

12.01.2022 Cane Toads are everywhere. You can see these all look a bit different but they have a particular elevated sitting position. Their croak is like a purrrrr! After midnight, go outside with a torch and a plastic bag. If you see one, blind it with the torch and pick it up by pinching it behind the front legs. Place in plastic bag and in in freezer. These have all been in the freezer. From my experience of living 30 years on the mountain, these animals do not exude their poison until really hurt or frozen. That is just my experience. They may cry and pee but have no mercy.... into the freezer. Never seen one at Adogma’s Cottage and I stay there frequently. If you left the outside lights on, it would bring insects and then toads, I reckon.

09.01.2022 Sure is hot! Always 5/6 degrees cooler up on the mountain. Adogma’s Cottage is amazingly cool. Insulated top and bottom. Block out blinds and curtains do the trick. Only 24 degrees inside. Garden looking as pretty as ever.

02.01.2022 To our wonderful friends who did visit our pet friendly cottage, I wish to inform you that Adogma’s Cottage has now closed its doors. The cottage was sold yesterday and it will become a family home. Thank you all for your patronage.

02.01.2022 Some of our pets feel the heat more than others. I’m lucky, I can take my kids to Adogma’s Cottage when I garden or clean. Wet bandanas or scarves around their necks does wonders. You can also purchase cool mats. Don’t be shy to ask a neighbour or a friend for help with your pets in this extreme heat. Do a trade off..... help them with something or just cook them a meal. Let’s all help each other with our pets in this extreme heat. Keep cool!
