21.01.2022 CARs - Controlled Articular Rotations. CARs are simply controlled joint circles, something youve probably done since you were a kid. They have a number of specific functions (which Ill talk about in the next video). However, their overall goal is to create independent control within our individual joints.... This will allow us to improve our movement options and versatility within our day to day tasks or speficic movement requirements (such as sport). But they are a skill and like any skill they require practice to achieve the desired results. Our body responds best to movement and force imputs, CARs simply do that within a wide but independently functioning range of motion. 18.01.2022 Passive range of motion vs active range of motion. Summary: Passive ROM = range you need help getting to.... Active ROM = range you can get to with muscular control. Passive Range of Motion - is the range of motion in which a joint can be taken through with the assistance of external forces. These forces include gravity, another person, another body part, a resistance band/stretch band or any other item you can think of that will help pull or push your body into a greater range of motion. Passive ROM is the prerequisite to active range of motion. Active Range of Motion - is the range of motion in which a joint can be taken through with the use of internal forces only, these forces are present in the form of muscle contractions. Reposted from @strongdad_blake96 - NSW Strongest Man ... Competing at NSW Strongest 2019 was just about the best performance I have put into a competition thus far in my days as a Strongman. I made mistakes in events that should have been decent for me, but thats part of the experience.. Im 23.. I got years to figure out this stuff The events were taxing and brutal, not to mention they opened with the most taxing event first which threw a spanner in the works for a few, but we all preserved and each and every athlete put in a monster effort on the day and you should all be proud of yourselves! I managed 3rd place, behind Aiden(2nd) and @fatboystrongman (1st) which Is what I wanted, a top 4 finish to go one better than last year, with a bigger and very tight field. I would like to thank @ptcmacarthur once again for running a brilliant competition as always, as well as all the crew members that supported throughout the day. The @gregohotel for hosting and sponsoring the event and all the other sponsors as well. The guys at @intouchhealthco for saving my bicep after a bit of a scare after the 3rd event (I think it was actually from throwing my belt ) I would like to thank all the guys from my Strongman family, Troy, Ash, @jasveenpal and of course my coach Stu Coulter. 14.01.2022 A little about me. My name is Daniel Lucchini and I am a coach at Adonis Athletics Granville. I have a Masters Degree in Exercise Science (strength & conditioning). I am a qualified functional range conditioning mobility specelist and level 2 strength and conditioning accredited coach. I am in my 8th year of coaching.... I completed my certificate III and IV in Fitness and began working in a gym immediately. Once I was there I realized there was so much more to know so I decided to go back to university, with the original intention of becoming a physiotherapist. As my time in uni progressed I realised my love and passion was as a strength and conditioning coach so I did my Masters degree there. During my degree I did work experience as state level Soccer before earning an internship at the Wests Tigers Rugby League Club, where I worked my up from the under 20s to the first grade team. I had the privilege of working under some amazing coaches during this time (2015-2017). In 2017 I spent the year managing a performance team in a gym on the central coast before beginning at Adonis Athletics at the start of 2018, although I began training at Adonis in 2015. I am both a coach and a practitioner of many disciplines. I have participated and/or competed in a range of sports including soccer, rugby, BJJ, powerlifting, cricket, rock climbing and tennis. Throughout all my sporting life I have always had a strong interest in being as strong as possible in as many different ways as I can think of. My best powerlifting numbers are: S: 220kg B: 125kg D: 300kg I have recently taken an interest in gymnastics strength training, mobility training and distance running. Despite looking like I weigh 75kg I actually weigh 85kg and eat about 6000kcal per day just to ensure I dont waste away. As a coach my goal is create a training environment rich in results and with a little extra meaning behind it. My favourite quote is "revel in the chaos". 13.01.2022 Exactly one year apart. 190kg down to 144kg for @instafazzz . This is the biggest victory of all for a couple of reasons: His highest weight when he started was 202kg, so hes lost nearly 60kg so far. Everyone can lose weight theres one thing not everyone can do - keep it off for an extended period of time. Sounds familiar?... . More than a year after beginning his mind and body transformation he is a totally different person. . His approach to life and his own health and everything else in between. . He sleeps better . He has more energy to enjoy life . He has better focus at work . He has more confidence . He is more productive . Theres no stopping him now. The momentum is too huge. . 120kg is the next stop then 100kg. . Weight training + change in lifestyle + observing calories in vs calories out . But it all starts from the 6 inches between your ears. You have to control that one first. . You think it was easy for him to start? Ofcourse not. The difference is he didnt give up and he has a team behind him - coaches and fellow Adonis Fam. . Boy, did our booth pull a crowd (if you were there you know) and we are thankful for all those who cheered and supported and told us that they appreciated it. .
