23.01.2022 *** O u r S t o r y *** " Hello everyone, just wanted to tell a bit about my Cairns experience. I got hosted by Craige Hills and had the best time. We did a little roadtrip, saw a lot of waterfalls, went to Port Douglas together and to the Daintree Rainforest. It was beautiful. He would also drop me off in town and pick me up which was very helpfull. And the food was amazing.... I just stayed for a little week but if you need to stay longer, he probably wouldn't mind. He is still hosting, so if you need a nice and save place to stay you can sent him a PM. Thanks again Craige! " Aniek

22.01.2022 Dreaming of a European summer? So are we .... " La tour Eiffel " Did you know ... During its construction, the Eiffel Tower surpassed the Washington monument to become the tallest man-made structure in the world, a title it held for 41 years until the Chrysler building in New York city was finished in 1930. It was the first structure to reach a height of 300 metres. Vive la France Thanks Magdalena for sharing your adventures with us. @leni_vibes

11.01.2022 *** O u r S t o r y *** " With our hearts heavy, it is finally time for us to say goodbye to our wonderful host family, who we have been with since June. My girlfriend and I moved out of Melbourne just before the lockdown began, after we bought our van to convert and travel in. Susie and her family, have a small farm on a beautiful 22 acre plot in Blampied (10 mins drive from Daylesford- a VERY popular tourist destination). In exchange for our room and board, we have ...spent the past 4 months really getting stuck in to country life! We help with any tasks which need to be done; including feeding the animals daily (BEST part of our day!), building shelters, clearing land and burning off and helping with some home renovations- to name just a few. We have also been working 2-3 days a week in hospitality in Daylesford; which has allowed us to save some money and make lots of new friends in this very difficult time. We have also, just submitted our 2nd year visa applications (417 & 462) after completing our specified work here. Not only have we been able to submit our visa’s but we have also spent the past 4 months gradually finishing our van conversion with invaluable help, guidance and support from the family; including full use of their work shed. This has honestly been the most incredible 4 months for us, we have learnt so much from our time here and it will truly be an experience that we will never forget. Susie, her husband, Josie & Otto and all the animals here have become our family and making the decision to move on to our next chapter was not one that we took lightly. On that note, if there are still people out there that need a safe place to call home and who are willing to get stuck in to country living; whilst making lasting memories with some truly wonderful people, then please contact Susie Losa. If you’d like any more information or pictures or want to organise a chat over zoom or Facetime- please reach out to me! P.S: MUST. LOVE. DOGS!" Yazmin bitouch

09.01.2022 UPDATE: 14 FREE accomodation offers in less than 1 hour in Western Australia! I think we are awesome! Hi there ! I’m Catherine, a 29-year-old traveller from Belgium, currently cycling my way from Perth to Esperance After 4 days on the road I’m in Dunsborough now, and had real trouble finding campgrounds to put up my tent so far, as everything is fully booked. My next stops will be Yallingup, Margaret River, Boranup, Augusta, Pemberton, Manjimup, Shannon, Walpole, and then all the points of interest to Esperance along the coast. If you’re located anywhere on the way and would agree to let me put up my little tent in your garden just for one night, it would be veeeeery helpful!

05.01.2022 ****** "Another amazing story, of such a kind amazing French & Kiwi family! I am constantly amazed at how much genuine kindness & goodness there is in this beautiful country. I was offered to just stay in this home for free, right by an amazing beach/volcano With the luxury to play football non stop with their child Samuel who reminded me of myself. I've missed football a lot in NZ but thanks to this kid it was as good as it gets for me here and I am pretty... sure he will go on to do great things. The future Kiwi-French Ronaldo! Lots of amazing crepes I got everyday, so for anyone who ever goes to Mount Maunganui or Tauranga area please buy some from La Petite Frenchie as you will be teleported back to France! Totally recommended! And this family are just amazing, welcoming in any backpackers stuck in NZ!" @adamtahero #adoptabackpacker #familylove
05.01.2022 ***Good bye Adoptees *** Last night we said goodbye to our three French backpackers. Our COVID19 community is slowly dwindling as they all hit the road for work and travel again. These three boys fitted in so well with our family. They made an effort to befriend our three teenage sons and in turn our boys thoroughly enjoyed having them here. Such great young men, adapting to get through a worldwide pandemic without family. Their families should be proud of them. This was one of the best things we did, opening our home and our family to this fabulous opportunity. #backpackers #home #sharing #caring #givingbacktothecommunity #helpingeachother #freshwatercreekcottages #farmstay #adoptabackpacker

03.01.2022 ****** " Adopt a backpacker! So I heard about this initiative a month ago. So many backpackers stranded in Australia, some of them just a month or so in to their 1 year working holiday visa. If they went home they would not get back to be able to use the remainder of their visa, but staying without a job was near on impossible. We have taken in 5. They self quarantined for two weeks then arrived here two weeks ago. Three French lads, Thomas, Adrien & Valentino, and and Argentinian couple, Florence and Gonzalo. In exchange for a little help on the farm, they get to stay here and we give them some food also. It just made sense, load of empty beds, loads of work.... #winwin #iso #allinthistogether #adoptabackpacker #french #argentinian #community #freshwatercreekcottages #farmstay "

02.01.2022 *** A d o p t U s *** Georgina & Joaquin are looking to become adoptees around Cairns area (Australia). If you wish to host them, head over Adopt A Backpacker QLD find their post and meet these two legends :) "Hello everyone, we’re an Argentine couple who arrived in Australia a little over a year ago and like so many people in these days our plans were affected when COVID19 happened, in our case we have found it difficult to go back to our country. However, we d...ecided to "adapt" to the situation to go through this difficult time away from our home, in the best possible way. For months we have been traveling and sharing our days with lovely families. Two days ago we left Clifton Beach (Cairns area) to start going down to south, after having spent 5 wonderful months with a beautiful family. The plan is going to moving in our own car and go sleeping in a tent, however this became difficult due to the heavy rains in the area (rain season is here), for that reason we’re wondering if someone could receive us for a few days until the rains stop and we can continue traveling safely. Of course we would be at your disposal to help you in whatever you need. We tell you some things about us, I’m Joaquin (34), I’m a veterinarian and here in Australia I did different jobs, always surrounded by animals (racehorses, dairy cows, pets, etc.). Georgina (31) is an accountant and mostly works as a cleaner and house-sitter. After these jobs, we were in different places, exchanging work for accommodation. Here are some photos of us in action."
