16.01.2022 Do you love dogs, then we have the job for you! We are looking for a junior person aged 15+ who is confident with dogs and has experience with a family pet or volunteer work with animals. The position hours may alter week to week depending on the number of dogs visiting our Doggy Day Care Program and Boarding Services. Rosters will be posted at least 2 weeks in advance. After School, Weekends and School Holiday hours are on offer. Weekly hours will be between 5 - 8 hours.... Short notice shifts occur from time to time so being based in Traralgon would be an advantage but not compulsory. A willingness to be available for such shifts is expected and appreciated. Duties to include but not limited to; 1. Maintenance and cleaning of the dog yard 2. Walking dogs and maintaining full control whilst out in the open 3. Bathing, brushing and drying dogs 4. Assisting with the feeding schedule of the pets in our care 5. Providing medication if required. 6. Assisting with dog training under direction of a qualified dog trainer 7. Greeting clients dropping off and collecting dogs as required. 8. Performing pest control as to a pre-determined schedule. 9. Maintaining kennel cleanliness 10. Cleaning rabbit enclosures as required. 11. Playing with dog's and giving them some cuddles, pats and love Qualifications: Cert II or Cert III in Animal Studies would be advantageous. Willing to undertake further study to enhance your ability to perform the job to the highest standard if required. Skills: Able to handle dogs within your control and identify non friendly behaviour Attention to detail in all things you undertake Deal with human clients with courtesy and professionalism Able to follow instructions both written and verbal Have good communication skills Have a love for the pets in our care and maintain the highest standards of welfare to them at all times.
