22.01.2022 My completed mural for @pangeaseed and @seawalls_ Home mural festival. I recently watched the documentary Planet of the Humans (available on youtube, I'll put the link in my bio) and am now even more discouraged at the likelihood that we will find a way to responsibly engineer our way out of the coming/present environmental crisis. I think we might be the crisis. I am at the very least aware now than many of our green energy alternatives are inextricably linked to the fossil fuel economy and any way forward will require a total overhaul of the system, not something complementary. We are both one with and at complete odds with nature, this piece is about the conflict and contrast in our relationship to nature. #seawalls #artistsforoceans #planetofthehumans #home #stayathomeclub #homemurals

05.01.2022 I’ve been exploring healing recently by way of the symbolism of the chakras. In particular, I’ve found myself stuck on the idea of the throat chakra: the seat of self expression. I’ve been challenging myself to make intuitively on Fridays, and yesterday the imagery on this deck unfolded, covered in objects that have been meaningful me lately, including my moon oracle cards, a crystal grid for inviting love, and the wisteria that’s burst into bloom in our yard. These flower... faces symbolise the fertile ground of femininity and the need to bloom thoughts into reality. I’m hoping that by painting without a goal I can begin to tap into genuine self expression.
