22.01.2022 SCHEDULING EMAILS You know when youre trying to sleep and literally all night its a toss and turn situation so you decide to get up and work... This is when you should SCHEDULE your emails to send rather than sending at 1, 2 or 4:00am!! ... If you send emails at all crazy times of the night it makes you look unprofessional and outta control!! So dont forget to schedule those dang emails when the sleeping thing just isnt working out. Do you use email scheduling? @hello_and_cookie

21.01.2022 Are you exhausted yet? Be real with me for a minute... Are you enjoying being back in the routine of working parents and kids at school? Perhaps you're just coming out of a lockdown and in rejoicing mode? You're either one of those people who thrives on a well-organised schedule and loving it, or you're a little unstructured, fly by the seat of your pants and hating it?... Which one are you? P.S. It's an exhausting time but I love a good schedule so if you're in need of one, check out my time management template to keep organised! https://adoremarketingcollective.com.au/take-charge-of-your Adore Your Markting, Nat. x

21.01.2022 PAINT YOUR OWN STORY Seriously what’s next? We’ve suffered drought, fires, floods, Covid-19 and now #BLM... as business owners it’s hard to know where to next. How do we respond? How do we react as our story online? How do we adapt?... I believe in you. I believe in me. Fight for your beliefs and paint your own story. Be true to your business and what you want to express in this time. It’s your business and if you’re powering through this rough time like the tough business owners I know then you’ll be sticking to your plan, your story and sharing your thoughts. We’re adaptable and we will get through this.

20.01.2022 Simple Self-Care How are you coping with going back to the normal routine? Quite frankly, I'm exhausted! I'm busy at work, but those kids? Phew, they have a busy life that I'm constantly trying to keep up with. I'm not on burnout mode but I can see some other working women on the slippery slope. Like my go-to talented designer, she is working 7 days a week and has no time for anything else.... If this sounds like you, then try and employ some simple self-care tips because if you've been in burnout land before your know it's not worth it. Make enough time for restful sleep Spend time with loved ones, but alone time is important too Try to exercise every day - even if it's walking the dog Eat healthy meals and drink your water Try to relax and get some headspace by doing mediation or yoga. Send this to someone who needs reminding - and yes, I'll be sending it to my dear designer xx Adore Your Marketing, Nat. x

19.01.2022 CONFORMITY OR AUTHENTICITY? Its so easy to change your colours to fit and conform to what or who you think you should be online. Its harder to stay true to yourself because what comes with that is perceived risk.... In business you need to represent yourself as who you are because if you try and be something youre not then youll most likely slip up. This will cause dis-trust in your biz when you want the exact opposite! Build trust by being you. @jac.cunningham See more

19.01.2022 BRAG BOOK IN TOUGH TIMES I'm honestly grateful when I get feedback, it's the pat on the back that I don't often give to myself because of my personal high expectations. Sing your own praises. Be proud of the work you do, the businesses and people you help. Do you struggle with this? If it's tricky for you then I want you to create a little brag book and jot down all the amazing things people say to you. In the current market, things might be a little tougher than usu...al, so a little brag book to reflect on will help remind you of how brilliant you are. Stay true. Stay you. x See more

19.01.2022 Client Love I worked with Cathy a few years ago and these words still ring true today. As women our lives are very different and we face different challenges depending on what stage of life we're at. One thing that's consistent, we all need to put ourselves first once in a while otherwise were useless to everyone - including ourselves.... I am a listener. A good listener. And I make it my mission to always perform listening exercises for my client's target audiences. This way, we understand them a little more, we know them inside out and we talk to them in their language, allowing them to connect with the brand. Do you want to learn more about your audience? Then start with my Buyer Persona template which you can find in the freebie section on my website. Adore Your Marketing, Nat. x

15.01.2022 Holidays are over and school is back!!!! Now it’s back to werk werk werk! I took an extended break from mid Dec to now and although it feels indulgent, as a small business owner I chose to take that time to recharge after the year we’ve all had!... I had clients that were having a challenging time in 2020 and knowing how I was feeling without the connection, I suggested perhaps their customers were craving connection too.... the solution? Our clients picked up the phone! The blower! Gave their customers a buzz for a good old fashioned yarn! The result? You betchya, they were all seeking connection and just like that? The relationship was nurtured and the sales magic happened! So this, and because hey, 2020, has inspired my word of the year to be.... Nurturing on and offline life... 15.01.2022 BEAUTY IN SADNESS As we edge closer to the end of 2019 reflection is inevitable. Some have suffered a tougher 2019 than others and as my family and I travel through country NSW weve seen the devastation. ... Weve heard local farmers talk about the scarcity of water, the local RFS volunteers having worked for months saving lives while not seeing their own family. Weve played spot the water in the creek beds as we drive. Weve been told some country towns will be out of water in less than a year. Although personally there have been some sad and tough times in business and life in 2019 I am grateful. For the beauty of time with family, small business successes, personal discovery and coming out the end of the year stronger for it all. Now I hope as a nation we head into 2020 stronger together too. #buyfromthebush #nswrfs #smallbusiness @ Armidale, New South Wales

14.01.2022 DREAM BIG MY LITTLES What's your reason for being in business? Passion? Lifestyle? These here loves are one reason. To show them you can have dreams and go after them - no dream is too big or too small. ... The entrepreneurial spirit is within them, by age 7 my eldest had started a beauty business. She discussed her idea with me, we planned her products, pricing, I explained cost of goods versus profit. I explained the concept of marketing and off she shot to create posters. She networked at every social event to talk about her business and sell like crazy baby! As a youngster who could refuse those curls and sparkle in her eye, so yes, she did very well and made a tidy little profit for herself. I can't wait to see what she does next!

12.01.2022 GIRLS WITH THE CURLS Time poor mothers.... Are you keeping it together or have you lost the plot? School holidays and juggling work, or lockdown and school closures is THE hardest. It's challenging to not get frustrated trying to manage both and I'm the first to admit I've lost my shiz a few times and I've had to pull myself up and into line.... At the end of the day, these curly girls are my reason for being in business. They inspire me with their creativity and problem solving and they made me think about a better approach that will work for all of us. And it's simple... ONE THING AT A TIME. Don't try to help them with a maths problem while crafting an email for work. Do the kids thing and THEN focus on your task. Together we came up with the idea that we do kids stuff in the morning while I get the afternoon to work. That way they're happy because they've had a little Mum time and I'm happy knowing that they've burnt most of their energy in the morning so I can crack on with work tasks in the afternoon. AM = Activity - PM = Business = SUCCESS! Have you lost your bananas or are you managing ok?

10.01.2022 CORONA VIRUS LOCK DOWN As Aussies we've been joking about toilet paper and the memes have been hilarious but when is it time to get real? For us it was when my husbands' cousin in Italy was put into lock down on Sunday 8th March 2020. He shared with us what it's like socially and professionally which got me thinking - are we prepared for work if we're in lock down? Pierpaolo lives near Venice and he said it's a really difficult time because people interaction is at a low ...- particularly hard for our fun loving cousin! Shops are open until 6pm and you can visit friends that you trust were also following the 'rules' but he said 'What's the point?' - it's simply too risky. He works in sales and working from home has it's challenges - especially when a lot of his work requires face to face meetings. Although it gives him time to catch up on admin he says people are not interested in buying.... The upbeat person that he is, he's taking it as it comes and saying 'What can you do?' except do the best you can and ride it out - until 3rd April when the lock down might be lifted (at the time when we spoke). With the Australian govt saying Corona Virus is going to be something we'll be dealing with until the end of this year, I've been asking myself some questions around working from home in case a lock down happens. Does your work require face-to-face interactions and meetings? Zoom is a no brainer for online calls and I use it regularly. Do you run face-to-face workshops? Do you need to think about how you can move this online? At this stage I don't however I hear Google's Course Builder, Teachable and Kajabi are widely used tools and worth checking it out. Internet access - is it currently reliable? Supplies - do I have what I need or can I store and save everything in the cloud? Do you need air travel for work? Anti-septic hand wipes, 20 second hand washing and wearing a face mask at least even reminds you to limit touching your face. How is it going to effect your clients and their demand for your product or service? One thing is for sure, if it does happen it will help promote working from home which will give more people balance and flexibility in their lives. In our ever busy lives that my friend, is a good thing! Are you fortunate to be able to work from home easily? If you have any concerns or questions about Corona Virus the best source to go to is the Australian Government Department of Health at https://www.health.gov.au/healt/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov

10.01.2022 DAILY STANDUP Want to nail your days? Try what our fam bam has just implemented... the daily stand-up. Its a scrum master technique ensuring everyone has enough work to do (ahem) and we dont have any road blocks to achieving our tasks.... It keeps our family in check, gets us eating breakfast together and helps me manage all thats on my plate. If you didnt see my stories yesterday I have secured a new client which Im so excited about but it will take time management to achieve all.the.things effectively and efficiently. E.g. our daily stand up looks something like this: from my 7 y/o: Yesterday I had school then ballet. I didnt have time to do my reader because of ballet so I will do it today. E.g. from me Yesterday I checked website changes for my client but it took longer than I thought so Ive had to carry over to today the task of writing my clients FAQ page. I also need to make client check in calls, run a WIP for a shoot before picking up the kids and take them to swimming. My usual roadblock is time but I think I can achieve all this today. You get the drift.... its our little way of seeing if we can help keep accountable and support each other Do you think your family would benefit from this? @runnerkimhall

06.01.2022 HOUR OF POWER I once worked with an entrepreneur who rose every morning at 4am, brimming with ideas and ready to seize the day. Mind you she was in bed every night at 8:30pm however I always admired her for the commitment. Last year I started what I call my Hour of Power where I wake at 6am before the house stirs. Some days I meditate, some I plan, read, journal or exercise. I find it very energising and I feel on top of my day before it properly starts.... Today I tried at 5am start to see if it empowered me even more and guess what!? I was just plain sleepy by 2pm! Maybe next time I try that I should be asleep before 9:30pm. I challenge you to try it and see how it improves your day. Who is game? @koala

02.01.2022 Have you looked at your numbers lately? If you don't know where you were versus where you currently are then how will you know if you've grown? And how will you set your goals for growth, ensuring you're focusing in the right area? The numbers you track is dependent on what you're trying to achieve for example if you're an ecommerce business trying to grow your sales you should be looking at your google analytics and shopping platform analytics (e.g. Shopif...y if relevant): what are your sales relevant to the same period last year? where are your sales coming from? what marketing campaigns were running that drove the highest revenue? Can you improve that activity to elevatate your results? Knowing your numbers is so very important so you know what marketing activity to focus on and your efforts won't be wasted. 02.01.2022 DECADE GOALS If you reflect on the last decade, where were you in love, lifestyle, health and career goals? LOVE: My now Husband and I had just moved in with each other into his 11th floor apartment in Camperdown, inner west Sydney. We had all the dreams of marriage and family to come (now with the most confident and caring girls that make it all worth it). ... LIFESTYLE: it was one totally focused on self! No kiddlets or fur babies just family and friends. I would go out with no concern of hang overs the next day - again no kiddlets haha! Id venture to live music gigs, festivals, degustation dinners and I was boxing obsessed to keep healthy. Today its a little more low key with our little fam, dinners now consisting of the broccoli battles haha! HEALTH: 10 years ago I was fit, strong and healthy but after my first born in 2012 I struggled with my weight and gained a chunk of it! A woman who likes to be well planned and on time with a smidge of control freak was shocked into reality when all that goes out the window with little babes which I struggled with. After 6 years of heavy weight I worked hard with diet and a personal trainer to shift 25kg and that 2.5 years ago! CAREER: I was in a great place as a senior brand marketeer in the beauty and haircare industry which I loved. When my kiddies came along I decided to tone it down to a part time role supporting a small business owner and I was her Digital and PR Manager. After having a taste of the satisfaction of the hard work in small biz and the results being hugely rewarding I decided my next step was to go into small business for myself. I have been in business now 3 years, in contract marketing roles for large businesses and helping micro and fellow small biz owners to help them achieve their marketing and biz goals. TODAY: Life will never be perfect but I am happy. My family is my world and I am so grateful that my work gives me flexibility to be there for them. See more
