24.01.2022 As a business owner, there will be many times when it feels like you’re on your own as you’re managing the entire business. One of the single biggest mistakes business owners make is that they try and do everything themselves. The reality is, you can’t. At the very least, you shouldn’t. For you to personally manage all of your accounting and finances takes up far too much of your time and effort, which means it is taking time away from what you do best and, ultimately, costi...ng your business money. Every hour you spend on administration results in an hour lost on doing the things that actually generate dollars. You can’t be all things to all people, all of the time. The reality is that there are not enough hours in the day and there is not enough expertise in any one individual to be able to achieve that. So, what do you need? Support. #support #business #businessowner #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #mentor #coach #businessgrowthspecialist See more

21.01.2022 As a business owner, you will have many things on your mind and hence will try and do many things at once. Very rarely, if at all, does this work out favourably for you. The reality is that you cannot do that successfully. Try and focus on the important things one at a time, with the most important first. #onething #focus #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #mentor #coach #businessgrowthspecialist

20.01.2022 Values are the guiding principles that dictate your behaviour and actions. In both your personal and professional life, your values can help you determine whether or not you’re on the right road to reaching your goals. They are your GPS. Your values influence the choices you make, in both your personal life and how you conduct your business.... The problem is that many people and businesses say they have certain values but, when push comes to shove, their actions are incongruent with the values they claim to uphold. For example, a builder who says he prides himself on his work, but who cuts corners to make a higher profit, values money more than he values his workmanship. Similarly, a builder who purports to value high customer service standards, but leaves a job half-completed to attend to another from a customer who gives him multiple jobs, also values money more than he values true customer service. S. G. Night said is best, ‘The truth is in your actions.’ Unfortunately, there are many of us that struggle with this concept, whether that is because of the fear of missing out, greed, or simply wanting to please everyone and putting their values ahead of yours. Do you work and live by your values? #values #goals #life #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

19.01.2022 You work hard to be successful in your business and that’s ok. Let’s face it, if you don’t, no one else will. The key to being successful is more than hard work.... You need to improve the method of what you do and how you do it. That is what will make the difference and give you the growth and ultimate success. With all the right systems and support team in place, you will be able to scale and grow to whatever level you desire it’s up to you. #success #method #system #business #accountant #adviser #mentor #coach #businessgrowthspecialist

18.01.2022 Is business getting in the way of business? It’s very easy to feel that way. Essentially, it's telling us that you're trying to do too much and I don't mean that you are trying to make more money or get more business. What I mean is that you are trying to do everything yourself or at least, more than you should. You have the ability to get the support of others and not just anyone, but specialists in all different types of fields, be that sales, marketing, operations, adminis...tration, etc. Don't burn yourself out or miss out of opportunities because you're running around doing things that you can have others do for you and, dare I say, some of them could be done more efficiently. Yes, there will be a cost, but can I ask you, what do you value "your" time at? Would it not be better to spend your time on the things that make you money, rather than the things that don't? Silly question, of course the answer is yes. In that case, do it. Get the support and grow your business and achieve your goals. #business #support #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists See more

17.01.2022 Our very own Tony Dimitriadis was a special guest on the Philip Robison Property Podcast. Take a listen - https://bit.ly/33dloIN #property #tonystips

17.01.2022 It may sound like a silly question, but you'd be amazed how many clients have said to me: "I didn't realise I was paying that." This revelation after preparing their cash flow forecast.... Don't put yourself in that position. Make sure you know where your money goes, not too mention, when, how and why. #cashflow #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

17.01.2022 Revenue vs Profit - Which is more important to you? Do you spend more of your time trying to increase revenue or increase profit? Revenue growth is great, but only if it translates to increasing your profit at the same time. More revenue for the sake of it, just means more work and we don't want that unless there is more profit at the end of it. So, how do we increase profit, irrespective of revenue?... We need to have a very close look at all our expenses/outgoings. I have come across many business owners who increase revenue but don't increase profit because they fall into the trap of just spending the money without really working out whether that expenditure is necessary. Profit is not something that we should just look at when the accountant does our annual returns. It's not a once-a-year event. Profit is something we should be looking at daily. It should be ingrained into our business psyche. You may have heard the saying, "revenue is vanity, profit is sanity and cash is king". A truer statement in business, there is not. Focus on profit and put your rightly deserved money into your pocket, not everyone else's. #revenue #profit #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists See more

17.01.2022 1. Once a year when I lodge my tax return. 2. When I have a problem with the ATO. 3. When I need some advice. I think 3 sounds like the right answer.... You should be seeing your Accountant as a Trusted Advisor. Someone who can work along side you to help you grow your business. Someone who you can bounce ideas off. Someone who can guide you down the right path. Someone who can bring in other professionals to ensure you’re getting the best of everything. That is what your Accountant should be and if he or she is not, then maybe the right relationship does not exist. So, ask yourself this, how often SHOULD I speak to my Accountant? #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

16.01.2022 Do you care about your financials, i.e. Profit & Loss Report and Balance Sheet? Or, are you solely focused on how much money you have in the bank? If you don't or are not able to effectively monitor your financial performance, how can you possibly make effective business decisions to be able to improve it to the level you desire.... The first step is to understand what the numbers are telling you. It is not surprising the amount of valuable information is in them, although, you may not realise that. The point is, you will be so much better off when you do. You don't have to be an Accountant (that's what we're here for), but you do need to have a solid understanding and have the right Accountant working with you to help you along the way. One that specialises in your industry and cares about you and your business. The bank balance that you're typically focusing on will improve once you better manage your financial numbers. After all, that's what you want isn't it - more money in the bank. #financialmanagement #money #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

16.01.2022 You are ambitious, committed and you have a skill. Is that enough to ensure you have success in business? Many people think so and I totally respect that because that shows positivity and that’s a very valuable trait.... Here’s the BUT It’s not enough because you simply can not do it all yourself. There are so many different aspects to running a business and you would need to be an expert in all of them plus have the time to actually do it all and there simply isn’t enough hours in the day or days in the week. Get the SUPPORT you need from those you can trust to help you on your journey. That will give you the best possible chance to achieve everything you set out to. #support #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #mentor #coach #businessgrowthspecialist

14.01.2022 It doesn’t matter what happened yesterdayor last weekor last year. What does matter? You guessed itwhat happens today, tomorrow and next year. It is pointless looking back you must look forward. What can you do to keep improving, growing, getting better, making more money, having more time, living the way you want?... Isn’t that what really matters? If you don’t agree then congratulations, because you must already be there (where you want to be). If you do agree then it’s time to do something about it. What are YOU going to do? #timetoact #business #lifestyle #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists See more

14.01.2022 The first step in choosing your destination is defining your mission statement. A business mission statement defines your goals, ethics, culture and behaviour. A complete mission statement defines what the business does, not only for its owners, but also for customers, employees and the community as a whole. A personal mission statement, on the other hand, is what you want to focus on, accomplish and become in your personal life. It is what guides your actions, behaviours and... decisions towards what is most important to you. As the owner of your business, the two will most likely be closely aligned. What's your mission? #missionstatement #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

13.01.2022 Do you learn more from your "wins" or your "losses"? There are definite learnings in both, but it is the "losses" that will determine your overall success. Wins will enable you to continue in business but losses will cripple your business and eventually, bring it to an end.... You need to constantly review your business practices to determine what is working for you and what is not. That way, you can focus on eliminating all the things that aren't working and fix them. You will then have a business that is doing a lot more right than wrong and therefore become successful. What mistakes are you making in business? Be honest with yourself because until you do, you will never achieve your potential. If you have a mentor or someone you can confide in, ask them. The single biggest mistake that business owners make is that they try and do everything themselves. Why would you? If you focus your time and energy on the things you do well and engage the right people to help you with everything else. would you not be better off? Of course you would, so why wouldn't you do that? Lose the "small" business owner mentality and start thinking like "big" business. The moment you do that, you'll maximise your "wins" and minimise your "losses". #wins #losses #business #support #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

13.01.2022 Cost vs Value....which is more important to you? As a business owner, cost is critical in ensuring you achieve the margins on your products and services. The issue some business owners miss is ensuring that you obtain the maximum value for the cost you incur. Not surprisingly, some incur more costs without getting real value and even worse, some cut costs on the things that matter most to their business which could give them great value. What do you do?... Do you cut costs and not consider the value or do you make sure you get the best value and not focus on cost? #cost #value #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists See more

12.01.2022 A complex structure that involves various layers will have more compliance issues attached to it, than a simpler structure. For example, a structure consisting of a company and a unit trust with two discretionary trusts as unit holders may provide the ideal structure for a smaller business that will also make some investments. However, such a structure requires that four entities be accounted for in addition to the business owner’s individual returns. In addition, trading bet...ween the structures will add an extra layer of complexity. By contrast, if your business is held in a single unit trust and you are the sole beneficiary, it will be far simpler to manage. However, you may not experience the same benefits when it comes to tax minimisation and asset protection. Where does this leave you when choosing a structure? Do you just leave it to your account-ant? Do you just pick whatever sounds like the right thing? Unfortunately, there is no one-structure-fits-all-scenario. Therefore, your particular circumstances need to be taken into account. #structure #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

09.01.2022 Wisdom - The knowing. The learning. The experience required to navigate the world. Wisdom has always been prized by the Stoics. Zeno said that we were given two ears and one mouth for a reason: to listen more than we talk. And since we have two eyes, we are obligated to read and observe more than we talk as well.... It is key today, as it was in the ancient world, to be able to distinguish between the vast aggregations of information that lay out there at your disposaland the actual wisdom that you need to live a good life. It’s key that we study, that we keep our minds open always. You cannot learn that which you think you already know, Epictetus said. Which is why we need to not only be humble students but also seek out great teachers. It’s why we should always be reading. It’s why we cannot stop training. It’s why we have to be diligent in filtering out the signal from the noise. Your goal is not just to acquire information, but the right kind of information. What is going to help you and your business? Who should you turn to? Who can help? Find the right mentor, adviser, coach that is passionate about helping YOU. #wisdom #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #mentor #businessgrowthspecialists

08.01.2022 Is cash flow a problem in your business? Is more money going out than coming in? Is there little or none left for you after paying all your bills? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then I need to ask you some others.... Are you doing anything to manage your cash flow? If not, why not? There is no point in running a business if you cannot earn the money you deserve for all the hard work and long hours you put in. You may as well go get a job and let someone else worry about it. If you are serious about making your business work and give you the lifestyle you desire then you MUST do something about your cash flow. If you haven't prepared a cash flow forecast for your business, stop what you're doing right now and start putting one together. No sense in continuing to work if you're not going to make money. Your cash flow forecast will tell you a great deal about where, when, how and why you're money in coming in and going out. You may just be surprised what it tells you. Irrespective of what it tells you, the key here is that you will know exactly what it's saying and therefore what to do about it. If you don't know what the problem is, how can you possibly fix it. Don't be afraid, Be brave and just do it. #cashflow #moneymanagement #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

08.01.2022 As a business owner this is something you will have or still are grappling with. You need time to make money AND you need money to have time. How do you get both?... Simple - you engage the right support to help you in your business. The right support could be one person or a team of people. The important issue is to understand where your strengths lay and give yourself enough time to benefit from that and then engage the right professionals to take care of everything else. You might just be surprised how much your business will grow. If you need help engaging the right support for your business, contact us today. There is no reason to wait because as each day goes by, a potential opportunity is lost. #time #money #support #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

07.01.2022 Business life is more than numbers. It probably goes without saying, but sometimes we just need a reminder and perspective. There is no doubt that the numbers tell the story - both good and bad.... Good - returning a profit; cash in the bank; not owed money (Debtors); don't owe money (Creditors/Employees/ATO). Bad is the opposite - running at a loss; no money in the bank; debtors owe you money; you owe creditors money, etc. So the numbers are the scorecard for your business to tell you (and others) how it's performing. But it's not the numbers that get you in that position. It's the way you manage your business that does, which includes the sales, operations and administration. How are you running those areas of your business? Do you have the right systems in place? Do you have the right support/team in place? Do you have the time to do what you need to do in order to grow and achieve you goals? If you've answered no to any of these questions, then it's time to do something about it - and NOW. #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

07.01.2022 Your health is one of the most aspects of your life. Some will say it's the most important. How's your financial health?... RUOK? Let us help. #financialhealth #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

07.01.2022 Without sales there is clearly no profit. Equally, without managing your expenses, you will likely have no profit. The latter could be considered worse as you’re doing all the work and getting nowhere.... The reality is that you need to focus on both. You need the sales to drive and grow your business, but not just any sales. You need to ensure that you’re getting sales and achieving a healthy margin. You then need to manage the expenses to ensure that you achieve those margins. Finally, not waste those margins on other overheads that do not add value to the business. #sales #profit #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

05.01.2022 The best place to start is by focusing on the the area of your business that will give you the greatest improvement for the least amount of effort. It could be in the sales/marketing of your business. It could be in the operations of your business. It could be in the administration of you business.... What is it for you? We all have one because there is not a business in the world that can't improve. Even Apple, Google and Amazon keep improving their business. Remember, start with the easiest things first that don't require a lot of effort and once you've accomplished that move onto the next one. You'll feel great that you've achieved something and you'll be more confident as you work through them all. And if you need a little help along the way, don't hesitate to get the right support. Here to help. #business #improvement #effort #achievement #support #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

05.01.2022 Good financial systems need to be in place to help you manage your business. They will assist in monitoring your financial situation as you move towards your goals, they will ensure you have enough money in the bank to meet your expenses and will keep you on top of your statutory requirements. One of the most important aspects of running a business is to ensure you have adequate cash flow to meet all of your financial obligations. Cash is the lifeblood of your business and en...sures you stay afloat. Unfortunately, most business owners tend to focus on profits rather than cash flow, and this is where most cash flow problems begin. One of the biggest killers to your business cash flow is slow paying customers. It is great to have lots of customers, however, if they are not paying you on time (or at all), that will make it very difficult for you to pay your bills. The second silent killer is your commitments to the ATO. After your workers, the ATO should be your top financial priority. It is one organisation that you do not want to get on the wrong side of. The third silent killer is over committing expenditure. Simply, making more money will not solve your problems if cash flow management is the problem. Do you have the right systems in place to manage your business? #systems #cashflow #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #mentor #coach #businessgrowthspecialist

05.01.2022 What attracts the attention of the ATO? To help you get things right, you should consider the behaviours, characteristics and tax issues that attract the ATO’s attention. Broadly, the following behaviours and characteristics may attract their attention:... tax or economic performance is not comparable to similar businesses low transparency of your tax affairs large, one-off or unusual transactions, including transfer or shifting of wealth a history of aggressive tax planning tax outcomes inconsistent with the intent of tax law choosing not to comply or regularly taking controversial interpretations of the law lifestyle not supported by after-tax income accessing business assets for tax-free private use poor governance and risk-management systems. If you feel like there are any potential concerns with any aspect of your financial business affairs, no matter how big or small, we’d be more than happy to review them for you. #ATO #tax #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

04.01.2022 It can be easy to overcomplicate things, especially when it comes to the financial and regulatory aspects of business. I find that, in most circumstances, the KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) philosophy is the best strategy. Consequently, we aim to keep things simple, so you can get a bird’s eye view of your business to figure out what’s working, what isn’t and how you can improve to achieve even greater levels of success.... While more complex thinking and strategy may be required at times, the more we can simplify matters for you, the better you’ll understand and the better placed you will be to move forward and grow. #keepitsimple #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

03.01.2022 2021 is upon us and for many that will be very welcome. Whilst 2020 has been very challenging for many, we should take the learnings and be better for them. May you and your family have a prosperous 2021 from our family at AD Partners.

02.01.2022 ARE YOU BEING LOOKED AFTER? You not only have the right, but you deserve to have professionals looking after your interests, whether they be financial or otherwise. Here are some key indicators as to whether your interests come first:... 1. Can you easily make contact with your Accountant? 2. How are you treated once you do make contact? 3. Do you feel they understand you and your requirements? 4. Are you getting the right advice? 5. Are they using the latest in technology to better meet your needs? If you're not getting at least these 5 things then it's time to consider your options. #business #accountant #adviser #virtualcfo #businessgrowthspecialists

01.01.2022 As an ambitious business owner, you are motivated by doing what is necessary to grow your business. Be mindful that you can not do everything yourself, as sometimes your enthusiasm can get the better of you. Make smart business decisions that will help you grow your business....
