The popular brand is Nexium but there are lots of others. This is all about suppressing stomach acid, which is associated with increased odds of colonisation by multidrug-resistant organisms. The authors maintain that less use of these drugs will reduce gastrointestinal infections, antibiotic use and even drug resistance.
