Please read all of the below VERY carefully I'm looking for exceptional artists to fill spots at premier Hunter Valley Wine Country venue Goldfish from December to April. ... Genres are country, blues, folk, jazz & contemporary & can be a mix of covers & originals. Dec - Apr I need 2 acts every Saturday.. 1: 12.30 to 3.30pm 2: 6.00 to 9.00pm Every Friday in January (ONLY) a duo. I'm also looking for a higher profile band on one Saturday per month from December to April & an Australian bush band for Australia Day on January 26. I've had the opportunity to work with multiple Aboriginal organisations across the state and this has undoubtedly reinforced my real passion to be a part of true reconciliation and healing in this country. 19.01.2022 It's been a VERY tough 12-months for the Music Industry - including our much loved Wollombi Music Festival. Festival restrictions, bushfires & now COVID-19 have led to multiple festival cancellations with more to be announced over the coming months. The hard work that goes into running festivals, being a professional musician or sustaining a financially viable life within the industry is hard enough at the best of times. ... It's all getting so much harder & recovering losses for cancelled or compromised events will take a long time for many people or send them to the wall. We as a nation need to do more to support the arts & independent artists, event organisers, associated industries & workers in particular. Due to COVID, guests MUST book a table through Now Book It (The Goldfish booking platform) or email [email protected] ... Due to travel restrictions, Goldfish has been booked out (sometimes weeks in advance) so bookings are essential to make sure tables are available on the date. Over the last 12 months I've transformed my body in recognition that if I'm going to have a positive & purposeful rest of my time on this beautiful planet I need to support a changing mindset & the pursuit of neuroplasticity with physical change through my diet & what I put into my body on all levels. ... In writing this though I want to make it clear I don't diet, I definitely don't starve myself & I still love an ice cream & too much chocolate! I'm also not 'healed' nor 'better' nor 'happy' or even my least fave term 'over it'. In the last week for example I called Beyond Blue (amazing people) at 4am from Sawtell Caravan Park. I lost the plot because my van broke down (again) & my capacity to deal with stressful situations due to my anxiety is poor. I've battled depression. I've been overwhelmed by my OCD too many times to count & if I did it would be in even numbers of course. I am a trauma survivor & those experiences are part of who I am but a part of me I now choose to use to create a better life for myself & others. I am motivated & I am inspired. I'd really love for you to read today's preceding post from Healing & Me (give the page a follow) which touches on food but also shares 2 incredible podcasts from The Doctor's Kitchen which are illuminating for anyone who struggles with their mental health. So when you see this photo know that change is possible even when you feel it's impossible. Break it down to what you can manage. Pillars Healthy Food - Exercise - Mindfulness - Mindset - Nature - Connection - Intimacy - Purpose - Sleep - Meds if Needed. If you can’t get them all in in one day then make sure to fit in a few. 11.01.2022 I am what I do, what I believe in and my history. My events are about giving artists a stage to tell their stories and connect through music or storytelling in its other forms. I love creating joyful spaces where people come together with love. ... I also love being able to be a part of helping others tell there stories through my social media work, particularly our Aboriginal brothers and sisters. It’s now time to continue to do all those things but tell my story too... This is me when I'm feeling like the warrior I want to be and wish I could've been when I was growing up. This warrior will do anything to protect his son, to protect his friends, his family and those he loves. This is the warrior who takes on Wicked Campers, who passionately advocates for change and wants to be part of a global 'wakening' around justice and what we can truly BE as people. This warrior feels a great deal of sadness that in many ways he could never be the happy, healthy, whole person he now aspires to be. I didn't have the strength mostly or the knowledge. So much muddy water travelled under and over my bridge to where I find myself now. But there is a bridge to where I want to go, and that is to tell the truth about my life and seek some kind of justice against those who firstly felt it was ok to abuse me and secondly as my dear recently passed adopted Dad said, "abandoned you." Erased. I received a letter from my adopted mother, and renowned disability advocate’s lawyer last year - yes lawyer. That letter still haunts me, but the 'victim' blaming it contains also inspires me. Each time I read it, with all it's disgusting comments and complete abrogation of her role in the pain she caused her adopted son, I bristle, but I also roar. I have a battle ahead to get justice. I know sadly my adopted brother and sister will do anything they can to hold onto their position, but I will never give up. We are seeing all over the world people fighting for what's right and that's not what a 'victim's leader' does - that's what warriors do. * I've made this post public and I'm happy for it to be shared or for my FB page to be shared with anyone who's also looking for justice, the chance to heal and to feel like a warrior too *

07.01.2022 I'm looking for as graphic designer who would like to donate some time to help me set up my new adventure Trauma, Healing & Me. This would involve a logo build & a some social media assets such as timeline banners, Insta tiles etc. To recap...... The last 2-years of my work life, which are winding up, have been the most eye opening experiences I've had of other people's personal journeys. I feel the time has come to live my journey outwardly and through that process and this project help others do the same. Trauma, Healing & Me is modelled on the Humans of New York. This page will have a focus on truth telling and healing. It will be a page of hope and I hope it will open some doors and in time create a conversation around the epidemic of family abuse that costs our society so much. I have lived this journey, I am living this journey and I passionately believe you must first survive, then have the opportunity to tell your story, be heard, the chance to heal and then you can thrive in whatever way is right for you. 05.01.2022 THE FUTURE OF WOLLOMBI - WE NEED YOU ADVICE! New Location - New Name - Let Us Know It's been a crazy few months post Wollombi 2019 & we're slowly working through options for the festival moving forward.... As we mentioned in previous posts Wollombi in Wollombi is not a viable venture with such a limited capacity unless we significantly raise the cost of tickets. We have always prided ourselves on putting on a 'big little' festival with great production, a beautiful site & quality markets, food & all the other festival elements. This year was amazing, the best Wollombi ever, but when our request for an increase in capacity was rejected things got really tough. There is a real enthusiasm from larger local venues & surrounding areas to host Wollombi in 2021 including Maitland & the Central Coast, but we'd love your feedback on where you'd like to see us for the next 10 years! 02.01.2022 In May 2017 we held our first reincarnation of Narara Music Festival at Mt Penang Parklands & what a bloody awesome festival it was!! It's a tough ride at the moment for everyone within the festival world & it's not getting any easier in the short to medium, potentially long term.... However, we're excited about bringing Narara Music Festival & Wollombi Music Festival together over 2 days in 2021 or 2022. Friday night will be our Narara night ALL rock & blues with our Retro Rumble & all classic hits Silent Disco. Saturday day/night will be Wollombi Music Festival which equals super sweet funk, soul, reggae & groove. Something to wet your appetite.
