25.01.2022 I'd be thrilled if you voted for me in the Australian Photography Awards - APA for People's Choice Awards - I've entered a handful of images in a few categories - Cheers.

25.01.2022 I remember looking at this rock at Tidal River on my first visit to Wilsons Prom a few years back and thinking it does look like a whale ~ ~ Wilsons Prom, Victoria ~... ~ See more

23.01.2022 Moody mornings down at Tidal River - you have gotta love all these great walks from the campground and seeing wombats just cruising by! ~ ~ Wilson's Prom, Australia

22.01.2022 "All Aboard!" ~ ~ You have to be impressed with the power of these steam engines, this one in particular K163 from @morningtonrailway I remember from Jubilee Park in Frankston when I was a kid. It's great to see it back in use running between Moorooduc and Mornington . I didn't realise how many tourist railways are in Victoria, do you have a favourite to check out with the family? ~... ~ Moorooduc, Victoria See more

21.01.2022 Trawling back through the archives even before I had a "proper" camera, found this image from Germany in 2012. With a light edit and crop in Lightroom, was rather happy with myself to have something bright and cheerful to share given not likely to see any autumn colours in our backyard.

21.01.2022 Social Distancing. A beautiful, calm morning back at the end of Lockdown 1.0 with just a gentle ripple across the Port Phillip Bay near Sorrento at sunrise. These two pelicans and seagull look just at home, keeping their distance. Have a great Sunday and share with your friends

21.01.2022 Up. Looking back through the archives and found this from 2017 in heart of Melbourne. Maybe I should do more street photography?

21.01.2022 I'm so excited to share my results from the Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers 2020 competition. My series "Glow, Rise and Clear" received Highly Commended in the Travel category. These images taken last year on the Gold Coast over the course of a day. Not normally my style but I was keen to explore panning at the time and took the challenge of creating some abstract.

20.01.2022 Im so excited to share my results from the Australasia's Top Emerging Photographers 2020 competition. My series "Cascades in the Forest" received Commended in the Landscape category. As you could imagine the landscape category is extremely competitive and the competition, in its 12th year, had record entrants. The first image in this series, "Serenity Storm" was also entered in Australian Photography Awards in 2019 and the third image "Hopetoun Tears" received a Commended result in The Mono Awards also in 2019.

20.01.2022 Ever since I visited last year, I've been dreaming about coming back to the Otways. It's such a magical place, and it's hard to find an original composition on Victoria's most famous waterfall. If you saw my story, you will know I nearly lost my camera in the Aire River and luckily suffered no damage - though I can't say the same for my CPL....let down by my tripod and not concentrating on what I was doing (in fairness the location is stunning)....so with that, what tripod should I invest in?

20.01.2022 "Gentle Glow" ~ Visiting the Great Ocean Road over last few days has truly been exhilarating and it's pure raw beauty everywhere you look. ~ 12 Apostles, Port Campbell National Park... ~ @sonyalpha A7III with Sony f/4 24-10 G @nisifiltersaustralia V5 CPL + Medium GND (1.2) 4 stop ~ 24mm, f/11, 0.5s, ISO100 ~ #wandervictoria #iamwherestoriesunfold #greatoceanroad #visit12apostles #yourhappyspace #racvsnaps #focusaustralia #seeaustralia #exploretocreate #ausnzlandscape #au_shooters #ig_discover_australia #igtones #earthfocus #passionpassport #wekeepmoments #dscvr_mood #dscvr_earth #roamtheplanet #trappingtones #gramslayer #agameoftones #earthofficial #worldprime #australia_shotz #abcmyphoto #sunrisesessions #sunrise_oftheworld #sunrise_sunsets See more

18.01.2022 Many, many years ago we bought a print from a local photographer on the Sunshine Coast, of Noosa National Park. We have looked at that image every day for last 10 years. I never imagined I would be able to capture similar conditions, abeit on the The Great Ocean Road, but even know how to use a "real" camera. Thanks for the inspiration @adamgormleyphoto - check out Adam's work, he has a beautiful collection!

18.01.2022 Over the weekend, I took a wrong turn and ended up in the Grampians. Even though on the long drive over I had all sort of conditions, I wasn't really sure what it would be like until I arrived. A steep descent down 300 odd stairs I stood looking up at Victorias tallest waterfall, Mackenzies Falls. Cascading around 35 metres into the river pool below, the gorge surrounding the Falls comes to life as the weather warmed up over the morning.

18.01.2022 "Still" ~ I love standing on a rocky outcrop or cliff looking at the ocean. But for me, being under the rainforest canopy listening to the wildlife and cascading water is equally as enjoyable ~ , Great Otways National Park, Australia... ~ @sonyalpha A7III with Sony f/4 24-10 G @nisifiltersaustralia V5 Holder + CPL ~ 28mm, f/13, 8s, ISO100 ~ #wandervictoria #iamwherestoriesunfold #greatoceanroad #yourhappyspace #racvsnaps #focusaustralia #seeaustralia #exploretocreate #ausnzlandscape #au_shooters #ig_discover_australia #igtones #earthfocus #passionpassport #wekeepmoments #dscvr_mood #dscvr_earth #roamtheplanet #trappingtones #gramslayer #agameoftones #earthofficial #worldprime #australia_shotz #abcmyphoto #melbourneiloveyou #melbourne_insta #melbourne_explorer #igersmelbourne See more

17.01.2022 Lucerne, Switzerland 2012 I remember walking out of the railway station and heading down to Lake Luzern to be greeted by Mt Pilatus towering over the town. It was still early autumn, the weather warm and the sight of a huge mountain so close by was new to us. It wasn't long before we decided to take the cogwheel railway to the summit and explore. It was a good lesson in being prepared for the Alps, as I had shorts and t-shirt on. A few very expensive lesson with splash of Swiss Francs on jumper and jacket! And wasn't even snowing, just cold....well by Aussie standards!

17.01.2022 Thrilled to receive a Commended Place in The Mono Award 2019 presented by Australian Photography magazine for my entry 'Hopetoun Falls'.

15.01.2022 I was listening to @ozscapers podcast the other day chatting about the famed zig zag groyne, and got me thinking I still haven't captured it at sunrise either yet....and I live only 20 mins or so away!

14.01.2022 This is the same image from last week at Hopetoun Falls in the Otways - I was interested in any feedback around the black and white version.......

14.01.2022 "Sunkissed Strawberry Moon" ~ ~ As you do when on holidays, I had to take the rubbish out on Monday morning when low and behold, I was greeted with the setting Strawberry Moon over the Scenic Rim glowing with the sunrise in the east. With no time to waste, I dropped the rubbish and grabbed my camera, fired this off at 105mm. Probably needed much longer focal length as I was pretty much at the beach in Coolangatta! ~... ~ What's your favourite spontaneous image you just had to grab? ~ ~ Coolangatta, Gold Coast, Australia See more

13.01.2022 Descending. . . . Taken a few months back, I remember walking back from Whisky Bay and looking towards Mount Bishop at the Prom. It was probably the first time I realise how much I wanted to capture more intimate landscape scenes. I didn't really have the focal length to do it justice, but the mood of the clouds moving around the mountain peaks really captured how cold it was!

13.01.2022 "To walk in nature is go witness a thousand miralces " ~ Mary Davis . . . Another image from my hike to Toorongo Falls from a few weeks ago. Who is excited for waterfall season?

12.01.2022 Wow, what an amazing place to check out yesterday in Mount Gambier.....the Blue Lake in a volcano crater. Has to be seen to be believed, the intense blue colour is incredible. Captured on #teampixel, edited on Snapseed

12.01.2022 I've been thinking perhaps the switch down from a SUV to a sports hatch wasn't such a clever idea when I want to explore the backroads.... ....this stunning little waterfall was down a gravel track which the hatch well in dry weather, and then a few KMs walk through beautiful cool climate rainforest. As I left early in the morning, I had this place on my own for exploring and sitting by the rockpool to reflect. I'll have to come back in the Spring when it's flowing.

11.01.2022 The Ranges. There is something mystical about wandering around the mountains. Lucky for us, when lockdown ends, we have some great walking trails and cool temperate rainforest on Melbourne's doorsteps to explore. And who doesn't love Puffing Billy?... Enjoy your Sunday morning and please share with your friends

10.01.2022 Congratulations to all the winners and finalists at last night's Australian Photography Awards. Some absolutely amazing images, and I'm really drawn to this one in the travel/street category. I'm looking forward to entering again next year.

10.01.2022 As I stood on the footbridge it was dead calm, and the only noise was the occasional kookaburra and the distant roar of Bass Strait . Not a breath of wind, which was change from overnight where it howled. After waiting for nearly 30 minutes in the dark, watching clouds form and fog roll over Mt Bishop and Mt Oberon, I had very little expectations for anything spectacular, but just as sun rose behind those mountains a touch of colour appeared in the clouds and gave some nice reflections on Tidal River. It was nearly over in the blink of an eye. But then the weirdest thing happened. A sudden gust of strong wind literally hammered down the river and nearly knocked me over. Such a strange feeling, like a ghost was passing by!

10.01.2022 Patience. . . . This is a hidden gem I have been exploring over the last few months. Some great composition to check out in all conditions. I'm yet to get down here in fog, but with patience I'm sure my time will come. Thanks to @nigel.danson and @baxter.photos I'm learning alot about woodland photography, and how to create amazing images in the chaotic scene.

07.01.2022 If you haven't had a chance, I'd love your vote in the People's Choice Award at the Australian Photography Awards - APA - just click the link below and chose to vote for one or all the images you like.

07.01.2022 It would be a great time to head back to this little spot near Noojee and spend some time outdoors. This image was taken back in early May before winter and the first real rainfall of the year, I'm sure there would be plenty flowing now as the snow melts.

06.01.2022 "Can you see the glow?" ~ ~ "Difficult roads often lead to the most beautiful destinations." And that is normally the case, except here at the Natural Bridge was the most civilised and convenient walk to a waterfall that I have had, certainly in Australia - paved all the way, well signed and very easy even for kids. Spoke to a handful of overseas visitors, and it a magical place to check out. Most told us to come back at night and see the glowworms, something for our next... trip! ~ ~ Natural Bridge, Springbrook National Park, Queensland ~ ~ See more

05.01.2022 The journey is often viewed as better than the destination. On this occasion I'd disagree, 4 hours in the car to explore the base of the Mackenzie Falls was a great way to spend a summer's day. Stay safe and stay at home - we can all get outside again, hopefully not too far down the track.

03.01.2022 It's been more than 3 months since I've had the chance to return to this native forest and take a early morning walk. It's challenging photographing in forests and woodlands as the scene is often chaotic. Today I spent plenty of time walking along the tracks, listening to the sounds of the forest and soaking up the moment. It was only then I found a composition I felt celebrated the area, that I took out my camera and fired off a frame.

02.01.2022 Apart but together. This image I took many weeks back when we ended Lockdown 1.0 and took my camera out for first time in months. I've shot here a few times and had in my mind, a long exposure moody mono image. But the sun had other ideas! Please share with your Facebook friends

01.01.2022 "The Calm" ~ ~ This seems a world away from the warm winter day we are having on the Gold Coast with blue skies, turquoise waters and white sand...but I remember how calm and peaceful it was, just sitting drinking my coffee. A small refuge from the chaos that can along this stretch of the Great Ocean Road. ~... ~ Gellibrand River, Australia See more

01.01.2022 The more I get out and about hiking to places to photograph, the more conscious I am of our environment. Here in the Gold Coast hinterland at this waterfall inside a cave, it was very clear you need to stay behind the barriers and not enter the creek so not to spread any diseases to the flora and fauna. Disappointing to see many people ignoring the warnings to "get the shot". That's why I'm proud to join the @naturefirst_org community and adhere to their responsible photogra...phy guidelines. The number 1 guideline is prioritising the well-being of nature over photography.

01.01.2022 Still. I feel this is more important than ever, to take some time for yourself and just be present in the moment. Be intentionally still and calm. Back at start of winter we were lucky enough to have a quick weekend away in the high country and it was just what we needed after months of lockdown. ... On this morning, a very heavy fog had descended into the Buckland Valley and I was stoked with the amazing conditions - hopefully, one day in the not too distant future, we can go back.
