24.01.2022 DEAR ADT FAMILIES AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING THIS SUNDAY GRADING Unfortunately for the first time ever, there will be no spectators allowed at Grading due to COVID 19.... 24.01.2022 With the year coming to an end - our kids have lived through a pandemic, adjusted to online learning, readjusted back to school, smashed out assignments, class work, sports days, negotiated a new socially distanced world, crammed in final exams and assessments, and are now attending end of year activities. Amongst all of this, leadership roles for 2021 are beginning to be announced - and I am incredibly proud to announce that two of our amazing students have taken out top ho...nors. Congratulations to Jaya Torenbeek for her promotion to School Captain for 2021 and Eva Zajac for her promotion to Band Captain for 2021. We are a part of your child’s village - we love to celebrate their successes with them. We are so very proud of you both girls. What an honour! Here’s to a wonderful new year full of exciting new opportunities and challenges as you tackle your new roles like black belts. Big love to you both - keep reaching for the stars girls. 23.01.2022 Just a reminder that grading forms are due in NO LATER than next Friday October 16th. We cannot accept grading forms on grading day. As you are all aware, Covid 19 has impacted our lives on a phenomenal level. To fit in with current government level 3 industry specific restrictions and to ensure the continued safety of students and families, I have been working on updating our Covid Safe Industry Plan and creating a Covid Safe Event Plan along with our Statement of Complianc...e - ensuring we meet all necessary government laws and regulations for training classes and grading day. All instructors have copies of these if you need to view them. There are strict Covid 19 guidelines we have to adhere to leading up to and on the day - Instructors will be letting you all know beforehand about covid safe procedures and expectations closer to the day. In the meantime, keep up your hard work - looking forward to seeing you all in class as we count down towards Sunday October 18. 23.01.2022 Today I want to recognize these amazing kids from Kimberley Park Dojang. On Friday one of the KP students asked if I would watch her receive a special award during a ceremony at school today when her Dad was unable to come. Of course I said yes! What an honor to be asked. Imagine my surprise when I saw FIVE of our amazing kids getting awards too! ... I am a firm believer that it takes a village to raise a child. As Instructors, its such a privilege to work with your children and we just love being a part of their lives. We get to see them grow within the art and hearing of their successes in other areas warms our hearts. Massive congratulations to Emma, Mya, Maddison, Hayden and Ella on their awards today. 20.01.2022 Happy Sunday ADTers! How gorgeous has the weather been this weekend. Great news - With the easing of covid-19 restrictions students are no longer required to book in through the Eventbrite ticketing system for the Bethania Dojang. Parents are also allowed back to watch their children train however signing in for contact tracing, sanitizing and temp checking are requirements for everyone entering the hall.... There is a maximum of 88 people in the hall at anyone time. Parents that are staying to watch their children will be asked to maintain social distancing and safe hygiene practices as per the Community Centre guidelines. See you in class. 16.01.2022 it’s that time of year again.....To celebrate Halloween this year we are having our Halloween Party Class Friday night October 30th Ormeau Dojang 6pm - 7pm... ALL students training under the children’s and transition curriculum are invited. Come dressed in your favourite costume for a night of training and spooky fun. Prizes for the best dressed boy and girl. Because we missed out on our colouring in competition earlier this year - I’m going to run in it in conjunction with our Halloween class. Our prizes this year are two gorgeous Scentsy buddies - Minnie Mouse for the girls and Spider-Man for the boys. Entries are open to ALL students in the children’s and transition curriculum - I will hand out entries over the coming weeks. These are to be handed back to Instructors no later than October 23rd and winners MUST be present at the Halloween Party Class to receive their prize. 08.01.2022 Kimberley Park Dojang was outstanding today! Patterns are looking fantastic and sparring was out of this world. Occasionally I like to spring self defense tactics on the kids to give them more experience with situational awareness or reacting to a surprise attack. These guys handled it beautifully - remembering our three hold breaks - the Harry Potter, the twist and the secret agent. Great work today little ones - I’m so confident in your protective and reactive abilities ...- so very proud of you all. Congratulations to Ariya, Angus and Lilly for being today’s students of week. 07.01.2022 BETHANIA STUDENTS - the Community Centre has released a new set of guidelines for the wearing of masks when entering and leaving the hall. All parents coming to watch their children must keep their mask on at all times. Students over the age of 12 must wear their mask to and from the hall. They are not required to wear it during the class. Please be advised social distancing within the Bethania hall is 4m2 and Instructor will set out seating following these guidelines. ... If you need any further information please read the attached memo from the Community Centre or contact myself or Master Instructor for further clarification. Remember when in doubt - wear a mask. Well done to the students in the kids class - fantastic sparring effort - visualizing targets on their partners bodies while protecting theirs - encouraging them to move fast and confidently. Adults class we pitted the juniors against the seniors - what a battle! They loved it - especially Keona who had 2nd degree black belt Paul on his toes.
