18.01.2022 "If you want to be creative, stay in part a child, with the creativity and invention that characterises children before they are deformed by adult society." Jea...n Piaget That's pretty strong language Piaget uses, "before they are deformed by adult society". What does adult society do to take away the heart-coherent state of play from whence comes all creation and innovation? That is the big question for us as parents, and particularly for us as teachers. We have it in our hands to set it up so children's access to play FORMS them, rather than promoting an environment and activities that deform them.

02.01.2022 Once Upon A Time Stuart Brown has spent decades studying play and its role in human development and mental health. His book, "Play: How it Shapes the Brain, Ope...ns the Imagination, and Invigorates the Soul" is full of research and stories that inform and inspire us as parents, early childhood teachers, and/or primary school teachers. We'll spend the next two weeks on this page hearing from educators and play experts about the critical importance of play in unfolding our children's intelligences and setting them up for a successful future in an uncertain world.
