14.01.2022 This morning, members from our NSW Team participated in the Reach Foundation’s Virtual Breakfast! The Reach Foundation is an amazing group of people who run personal development workshops for all young people aged 10-25, to help them build their confidence and resilience to become the best versions of themselves. The breakfast was held virtually via Hopin and hosted by three young members of the Reach Crew who shared their own raw and authentic experiences of living through u...ncertain times, in an uncertain world and how they are rising above it. We were lucky enough to listen to special guests including Uncle Bill Nicholson and Mr. Josh Bull (MP Parliamentary Secretary for Youth), who both shared their own wise words and stories. MasterChef Semi-Finalist Tim Bone also hosted a cook-along, teaching everyone how to make a breakfast of champions Ricotta Pancakes! The Reach Foundation is an amazing cause to get behind for kids of the present and future who are struggling to find their own feet and who they are in the world. If you’d like to donate to Reach, please click on the link below. Every penny counts. A big thank you to the #ReachFoundation for hosting such an insightful event. https://lnkd.in/gCNPrSx

14.01.2022 From bushfires to floods, a global pandemic and now the possibility of spending Christmas apart from our nearest and dearest, the crazy and unpredictable year of 2020 is coming to an end. The past year has emphasised just how important it is to lend a helping hand to those individuals and families who have been affected more than some by the challenges 2020 has presented them with. To embrace the spirit of giving back this Christmas season, Advanced Buildings partnered with ...two charity appeals that support different demographics in the Greater Sydney Community. Prior to COVID, the St Vincent de Paul Society were able to run their Sydney Night Patrol service which consists of two vans, operating 7 nights a week to provide light meals and necessities such as toiletries, blankets, snacks and most importantly, companionship to individuals who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness in the Sydney CBD and surrounds. However, this year the service has not been able to run as usual due to physical distancing and changing safety requirements. Instead they have been relying on the greater community to support their work through donations of necessities that can be easily provided to those in need of this service, without compromising the health of anyone involved. They called these Snack Packs! Each Pack consisted of 5 individually packed snacks that are distributed in Martin Place, Sydney CBD, to around 300 individuals affected by homelessness and parents with children who do not have the recourses to feed their family. Altogether, Advanced Buildings donated over 200 snack packs! In keeping with the spirit of giving back, Kmart and the Salvation Army held the Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal again this year! The appeal is Australia’s largest and longest running Christmas gift appeal, having raised more than 8 million gifts over the 33 years it has been running. In 2019 alone, the Appeal collected more than 220,000 gifts that were distributed by Salvation Army volunteers to those in need. To get involved, team members purchased and donated a present which could be anything from back-to-school supplies, books, sporting equipment or arts and craft toys! For each toy donated by the team, Advanced Buildings matched it with a gift donation of their own. The gifts were delivered to the Kmart store in Burwood Westfields on the 22nd of December, just in time for Christmas! The team had donated so many presents, Kmart had run out of room under their Wishing Tree Christmas Tree, they had to be stored in their back office! Advanced Buildings would like to thank the team for showing their generosity and getting involved in two great appeals that will bring joy and happiness to those in need during this season. #advancedbuildings #advancedbuildingsnsw #christmas2020 #givingback #stvincentdepaul #kmartaus #SalvationArmy

03.01.2022 Newcastle Senior High School Removal of roof tiles, decontamination of asbestos and lead dust within the roof cavity. Being a special needs school, this project proved to be challenging as works could only be completed outside of school hours and be left in a tidy and safe manner at completion for the following day.... Small building works, such as painting , were able to be carried out after school hours during the term, whereas the asbestos dust and lead remediation works had to take place over the 2019 Christmas school holidays, completed before school resumed in January 2020. WHS precautions were taken to make sure that all trades were working safely at heights and extra considerations for the hours they worked in hot conditions during the summer weeks Swipe to see the roof on completion, works in progress and before. #advancedbuildings #insurancebuilders #insurancereinstatement #builders #RespondRestoreRestart #Newcastle #CentralCoast #advancedbuildingsNSW #WHS #NSWSchools #School #asbestos #asbestosremoval #remediation

01.01.2022 BWSC Umina Campus Science Lab Construction The project required strong attention to detail ensure the two new science labs were built correctly and in accordance with the Education Facilities Standards and Guidelines (EFSG).... We brought all services up to code and installed within the new design, including new communications for classroom technology and plumbing services for the labs. All the works had (and were!) to be completed within 8 weeks and with minimal defects. We provided the Department of Education as-built drawings at the completion of works. Swipe to see the classrooms before their update!
