23.01.2022 Yesterday a 2amp Vertex, today a 44amp Promag out of a Drag Car in Adelaide Last time serviced 6/6/08 long time ago but freshen up, new bearings, riteflex and general tidy up then test run on machine and check Rotor Phasing, a good thing with these large caps able to adjust rotor firing position to cap post to get maximum spark to the plugs Already set using timing light through cap with holes this video for all to see what it looks like inside This also shows why you need this large cap with high output mags 20 &44 so that you don’t get cross firing at high revs

23.01.2022 This is what the inside of the cap looks like on a 44 amp mag under test after servicing This is using the large pro cap which enables you to adjust the rotor phasing to get the correct firing on the cap posts

22.01.2022 A bit of a milestone today, serviced my No 500 MSD Magneto. I number each one I receive for the first time so of those 500 seen, many have been returned many times for regular servicing. Thank you to all those loyal customers for entrusting your goods to me. Pictured are 500 and 501 ready for packing and sending north on Monday.

21.01.2022 Load test on a points box sent by a customer from Sydney 5 mins @ 6000, 5 mins @ 7000 then finish of with 5 mins @8000. Spark kept up under extreme load, looks like the customer will be happy. This is the last minute of the test

12.01.2022 Interesting little experiment today as had to repair an External Coiled 8106 Points Box that drives a 44amp coil normally using a 20 amp Promag Didn’t have the 20 amp on the test bench but tried using a 12 LT that I had just serviced and tested with a standard 8106 box Result showed a marked intensity of spark indicating a higher output from the larger coil. Not sure on the long term effect that this could have on a 12 LT but was impressive.
