07.01.2022 Thanks for your patience last Friday - which was Day One of our cafe being open again - woo hooo! Meals, coffee, cake, snacks will be available again on Friday... 16th from 9am - 1.30pm. Just so you know....we support local suppliers where we can! Coffee - locally roasted, sensational coffee by Hellbilly Roasting Drinking chocolate and marshmallows by Grounded Pleasures - of course! We picked up some honey for chai and some of our desserts - from The Honey Locker Urban Farmgate in Errard Street Sth - yum! Milk - from Inglenook Dairy (how lucky are we in this region??!!!), and our meat and vegetables are also from local smaller businesses. In the cafe, you can pick up homewares and bags made my local Sth Sudanese women, with their small business - A Tuk. Unlike a regular Advent Calendar where the focus is o...n receiving a treat every day the Reverse Advent Calendar takes the focus off receiving and places the focus on giving to others. A Reverse Advent Calendar begins as an empty box. For 20 days in the lead up to Christmas you place one item (non-perishable food and toiletries) into the box. After 20 days your filled Reverse Advent Calendar is dropped off to York St Church of Christ where it is distributed by food relief agencies to people in our immediate community who are experiencing food insecurity. You can collect a box from York St Church of Christ (Tuesday - Friday. 9am - 3pm) Ballarat Veterinary Practice clinics - Sturt St, Howitt St & Lucas Eureka Veterinary Hospital clinics - Creswick Rd & Mt Clear Our 20 days will begin on November 29 (although you can begin filling your box whenever you like) and our box return day will be happening on Friday 18th December at York St Church of Christ, 410 York St. *** Please share this post with your family and friends. We have 2000 boxes ready to go and we would love to see every single one filled this year. ***
