Our deep control system allows control and stability of our spine, pelvis and thorax, whilst allowing movement and flow (as opposed to the bracing strategy our superficial-core creates). Both systems are very important, but if you have imbalances between the two or are using the wrong core strategy for stability at the wrong time, then pain and dysfunction... will follow. If you dont know how to engage your DEEP CORE then get into a session with one of our physios and theyll teach you using a real-time-ultrasound machine, cues, feedback, and youll walk out knowing exactly how it feels and when to use it. 06.01.2022 STEPS PER MINUTE: also known as cadence... this is one of the most important aspects of good running technique. It will determine where your foot lands under your body and how much force your joints have to absorb. If you over-stride and land with your foot in front of your body (low cadence) then you will have 2-3 times the amount of force going through your poor little ankles, knees and feet! By shortening your stride length (higher cadence) youll land with your foot under...neath or behind your centre of mass, which will propel you forward and put much less load through your body.
