20.01.2022 The World is never going to be same. The fear and panic are real and it is hard to escape it. COVID-19 pandemic is spreading across the world, and we believe the Government recommendations are the only and the ultimate authority to follow. According to the latest recommendations of the Australian Health Department and our Prime Minister, the social distancing is necessary and large 500+ people outdoor gathering should be cancelled. However, the small community sports activiti...es should proceed if the hygienic guidelines are followed. The participants should be spread out and cleaning arrangement provided. What we believe this will be followed to absolute during our events. Although a lot of events have been cancelled lately due to significant risk, associated with large gatherings, the smaller events do not expose that much risk and appropriate arrangements and nature of adventure racing will minimise it. Adventure Racing is a perfect way to immerse yourself into nature and step aside from panic that covers all the cities at the moment. AJ team is putting together a plan to minimise the risk of exposure and proceed with our events unless the Government regulations change as the situation evolve. The next race is Baw Baw Extreme which is a relatively small field competition and will be capped by 100 to make sure there are no crowds during the race. To briefly outline additional measures we're planning to implement check out the original post. Basically, we remove all social gatherings from the event and it will be just you against the course and time. Watch online briefing, get your race pack from the post, arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your INDIVIDUAL start time, race, finish, watch results announcement, get inspired to stay fit and healthy and live a full life even during this tough times. NOTE: If situation change and event will have to be cancelled, entries will be transferred to alternative date 31 Oct - 1 Nov. We have confirmed water levels for alternate dates as well. 16.01.2022 To Our Adventure 1 Family We've certainly entered uncharted territory! While we are acutely aware that there is a bigger picture world going on outside our litt...le bubble of adventure racing, we felt it would be a good idea to touch base briefly about the plans for Adventure 1 moving forward in 2020. Obviously a big spanner has been thrown into the works with the postponement of the first two races in the Aussie series and the 2nd race in NZ series. As A1 and its race directors continue to review the 2020 events in light of the COVID-19 threat, we are in a case of "wait and see" unfortunately. We are working hard behind the scene to deliver the best national series possible in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, in an equitable manner, with the cards we have been dealt. But rest assured, once the dust settles the A1 series will be bigger and better than ever. In the interim, look after yourselves and your loved ones and support your races where possible when they come back online. Further updates to come when we formally lock in adjustments to the series. 11.01.2022 Goal event to train for the next 6 months? Here it is! Famous X-Marathon Adventure Race is back for 2020. A little bit closer to Melbourne this year, so travelling from interstate should be easier. Registration will be open mid-May. Rivers will be full, the temperature will be pleasant for racing and the event picture might suggest where we will take you this year. Book the dates and start getting your crew together.
