23.01.2022 YOU CAN HELP REWILD THE SNOWIES The Snowy Mountains are the traditional lands of the Walgall and Ngario people. They’re an area of incredible historical and ecological importance, home to our largest alpine region, and a habitat for hundreds of plant and animal species found nowhere else in Australia. Today our friends at We Are Explorers and Keep It Cool have launched a crowdfunding initiative to plant 6,000 native trees in the area.... Every $5 donated ensures one tree will grow and thrive, creating new habitats for wildlife and importantly making a positive contribution towards reversing the effects of climate change. The Snowy Mountains are of incredible historical and ecological importance. They’re Australia’s largest alpine region and home for hundreds of endemic plant and animal species. The Snowies, like many of the world’s wild places, are particularly threatened by the effects of climate change.... In partnership with Keep It Cool they hope to raise $3OK to plant 6,OOO native trees in the Snowy Mountains. For every $5 donated they guarantee one tree will grow and thrive in Snowy Mountains’ soil - to create new habitats for wildlife and most importantly, draw down greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, making a positive contribution towards reversing the effects of climate change.
