22.01.2022 With the recent announcements by the Australian Government regarding COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all tours operations effective immediately until 31 May 2020 at this stage, however we will be providing regular updates as changes occur. The health and safety of our staff and guests is our number one priority, so we must do everything we can to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Our thoughts are with the people and families around the globe who are a...ffected. Our Reservations team are currently contacting affected passengers and their agents to discuss their bookings. We know there are many unknowns during these difficult and challenging times, we can assure you that we are monitoring the situation closely, following government updates and we will continue to communicate with you. In the meantime, we will be sticking around to keep each other company in your newsfeed, and offer you some holiday inspo for when Australia and the rest of the world as back in business- we’ll be ready for you

21.01.2022 It was here on these rocks that a group of eleven Guugu Yimithirr men and James Cook and several of his companions reconciled their differences and restored the peace and friendship that was the defining nature of the European’s seven weeks stay in Endeavour River. This is the first recorded reconciliation between Indigenous Australian and European people. Have you visited Reconciliation Rocks before and learnt about the story?

19.01.2022 James Cook and the HMS Endeavour hit the reef off Cape Tribulation in the middle of the night, June 10th 1770. They were stuck there for almost 24 hours before getting the ship free, although taking on water through a hole in the ship. Continuing north before finally beaching in Cooktown on the 17th, where they sent 7 weeks repairing the ship.

17.01.2022 Some amazing TripAdvisor feedback from one of our passengers about her experience on our Daintree Dreaming tour! Well done Bridget, our wonderful guide, and Roy at Mossman Gorge Centre! We love to hear your feedback

16.01.2022 James Cook and his crew landed in what is now Cooktown in June 1770 and stayed for 7 weeks. The local Guugu Yimithirr people called the region 'Gangaar' which translates to 'Place of Rock Crystals' as Quartz crystals were found there. Fast forward to October 1873 and Cook's Town was founded as a supply port for the Palmer River Goldfields before changing name to Cooktown almost one year later. Discover the fascinating history of the region with us! http://bit.ly/2TD3GLo

13.01.2022 Mossman Gorge is a significant place to the Kuku Yalanji people, with history and stories about the area that have been passed down through generations. Manjal Dimbi is the name of the large mountain that protects the gorge, and is the centre of one of the people's great legends. 13.01.2022 Black Mountain is located just south of Cooktown. Named 'Kalkajaka' meaning 'place of spear', it is a significant and respected place for the Aboriginal traditional owners, and is the focus of several Dreamtime stories. You can't truly appreciate the scale of the granite boulders and mountain itself until you've stood next to it in person! Visit on our Cooktown tours http://bit.ly/2TD3GLo

08.01.2022 When visiting Cooktown, you can learn the Aboriginal story of how Mungurru, the Rock Python, made the Wahalumbaal Birri (the Endeavour River). The river was named Endeavour by James Cook, after their ship, during their stay in 1770.

07.01.2022 To celebrate the 250th anniversary of Cook's Australian voyage, the replica HMB Endeavour is making a journey around Australia. Drew from our team is excited to be joining the crew for the Cairns to Cooktown leg from 21st to 25th of July- what an amazing experience! We will share some photos when the journey comes! from The Australian National Maritime Museum
