23.01.2022 On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. With their armies retreating and close to collapse, German leaders signed an Armistice, bringing to an end the First World War. From the summer of 1918, the five divisions of the Australian Corps had been at the forefront of the allied advance to victory. Beginning with their stunning success at the battle of Hamel in July, they helped to turn the tide of the war at Amiens i...n August, followed by the capture of Mont St Quentin and Pèronne, and the breaching of German defences at the Hindenburg Line in September. By early October the exhausted Australians were withdrawn from battle. They had achieved a fighting reputation out of proportion to their numbers, but victory had come at a heavy cost. They suffered almost 48,000 casualties during 1918, including more than 12,000 dead. In the four years of the war more than 330,000 Australians had served overseas, and more than 60,000 of them had died. The social effects of these losses cast a long shadow over the postwar decades. 22.01.2022 Adventure is taking yourself into nature and dealing with what she throws at you all whilst maintaining your sense of humour and achievement. This weekend she threw it all at us and this team just kept on smiling, kept on pushing and battled their way through some hectic conditions. Highlight: climbing Ramshead North with ZERO visibility and the snow slide back down. ... Thanks for being such a great team and can’t wait to adventure with you guys again. #adventure #nature #mindset #kosciuszko #perishervalley #thredbo #notdeadyet See more

17.01.2022 We thought about flying into Uluru but instead decided to drive all the way from Brisbane. There’s no doubt there are things you miss when you fly into destinations. For example we wouldn’t have come across this: ... Aileron roadhouse located on the Stuart Highway, about 135 km north of Alice Springs and some 370 km south of Tennant Creek is home of the giant figure of ‘Anmatjere Man’ and 'Anmatjere woman and child'. The 'Anmatjere Man' was erected in December 2005. At 17 metres he strikes an impressive figure as he overlooks Aileron and the surrounding region. The figure is 12 metres high, with the tip of the spear taking it to 17 metres. Weighing approximately 8 tonnes, the sculpture is made from a steel frame, mesh wire and ferris cement. The project, including the statue and the ‘Hollywood’ style Aileron sign took approximately 18 months. The sculpture was completed in December 2005. Created by local sculptor Mark Egan. ‘Anmatjere Woman and Child’ was erected in December 2008 joining ‘Anmatjere Man’.

16.01.2022 Tili Wiru Tjuta Nyakutjaku or ‘looking at lots of beautiful lights’ in local Pitjantjatjara is The Field of Light at Uluru. What a marvelous artistic Endeavour. The size of 7 football fields. The weight of 7 cars. 50,000 hand blown glass lights. ... Solar powered. Amazing. Australia has so much to offer. Adventure, a great way to start a new year. Welcome to 2021. #adventure #uluru #outback #fieldoflights #australia See more

16.01.2022 It’s hard to capture the beauty of the Field of Light at Uluru but here’s the best I could do. This was filmed and edited together on an iPhone 11. Amazing what technology can do for us. If you haven’t been to Uluru I urge you to go. I’ve seen much of the world but there’s something truly magical about our own backyard. ... For me Uluru is the cultural and spiritual heartland of Australia. The Field of Light just adds to that. Happy New Year from myself and one team. Yours in Adventure, Glenn

14.01.2022 Taking 24 girls aged 11-17yo to the top of Flinders Peak in SE QLD. A chance to introduce the next generation to the joys and benefits of adventure. #aella #teengirls #adventure #notdeadyet #buildingbetterhumans

08.01.2022 @mountaindesigns ambassador and Adventure Professionals founder @glennazar is a former soldier having served 17 years in the ADF specializing in Aero-Medical Evacuation (helicopter evac) and qualifying as a Registered Nurse. He has lead over 70 treks across the Kokoda Track, 13 to Everest Base Camp, 14 to Kilimanjaro, 25 Aussie 10 Peaks as well as Black Cat Track, Russia, Nepal, Africa and other Australian destinations. Glenn is a firm believer that adventure is the b...est personal development in the world because who you are at the end of an adventure is very different to who you are at the start. This is why he recently founded Bro Camp a Personal Development program aimed at 11-17yo boys focusing on fitness, mindset and adventure with the team from @brochat_180 and in partnership with @terrywhitechemmartsamford and @terrywhitechemmartarana Extra sponsorship from @dcb_developments and numerous individuals and former soldiers like @_michael_casa and @tigermully respectfully. We look forward to seeing more of these programs rolling out in 2021. Stay tuned for details. #personaldevelopment #adventure #brocamp #mindset #challengeyourself See more

08.01.2022 Nature teaches us lessons that sifting in the comfort of our home cannot. At the end of the day we’re animals and we need nature, we need to feel the connection with being outdoors in an environment that isn’t controlled to the nth degree. It’s empowering for us to be at the whim of Mother Nature and to have to respond and bend to her wishes. It’s a major part of our outdoor camps for young people. You’d be surprised how many tell us they’ve never camped before. ... #camping #nature #outdoors #rewilding

05.01.2022 There are so many adventures to be had on our back doorstep. This is the view across to Mt Beerwah from Mt Tunbubudla. Tunbubudla is a nice little hike (only 307m asl) and not overly trekked. ... We didn’t see a single person on our walk this morning. About 1.5hr round trip. Best to have 4WD to access the start point as the road leading in is well chopped up. We spent a good 20-30 mins at the tip just soaking in the serenity. Nice way to start a Sunday. We will organise a weekend hike here early next year for anyone keen. #adventure #travel #wanderlust #nature #trekking #mymdadventures #notdeadyet See more

02.01.2022 This is one our favourite photo’s from the Kokoda Track. @smalls.121 giving jewelry to the young kids of Isuarva Village. It’s moments like these that allow us to understand the simplicity of life which many of us have lost in a busy western society. In the jungle time can stand still and human connection is still the most important currency there is. ... We can’t wait to get back over there with our PNG brothers and sisters. #kokoda #papuanewguinea #png #warhistory #humanconneconnection #jungle #adventure See more
