25.01.2022 Days 12-13 (28/8/14) Spent today exploring dunes & beaches around Turtle Head Island. Watched tiger shark feeding 50 m from camp. More crocs here - passed a 14 footer on our way into camp. Tip tomorrow!

24.01.2022 Wow. We have mobile reception on Lloyd Island- just Nth of Lockhart River. So Dad gets a night off transcribing our sat phone SMS and posting them on my behalf. What an interesting 24 hours we have had.Left Flinders Island early for a 95km sail across Princess Charlotte Bay to Fife Island. We expected a cute sand island. What we got was Croc Central. A 14 Footer greeted us on the beach. He was making no bones that this was his place and we should move on. So we did. The only problem with that was that it was dusk- forcing us to sail all night. We arrived at Lloyd Island at 10.30am after a very wet cold and rough night at sea. Better that than spending the night with our 14 ft mate.

20.01.2022 Days 10-11 (26/8/14) Sitting next to fire after a clam dinner. At Hannibal Island. 3 days to The Tip. Very windy. Walked around fringing reef (3 km).Hit a shark at 20 kph. More in 2 days.

10.01.2022 Days 13-14 (1/9/14) We are now 150 km from Weipa in the Gulf. Just watched a spectacular sunset. Big dunes, big mama crocs, and craziest of all - mobile reception in the middle of nowhere! I've decided I could do this for a year or more.....please send money.

02.01.2022 (Brett's post below was for days 5-7) This one is days 8-9 (24/8/14) We left yesterday morning from Lloyd Island for Restoration Island, and have been guests of Restoration Dave for the past 2 days. Amazing place and amazing guy. He has been on the island for the past 16 years, but is now facing the possibility of being forced to leave. A very sad prospect indeed, as his plans are to develop tourism opportunities in partnership with the Lockhart Community. This would be a huge opportunity for this Community and its kids - which is what Dave is interested in. Tomorrow we move on to Hicks Island and Cape Grenville, weather permitting. It's blowing 30 kt+ at the moment!

01.01.2022 Days 12-13 (30/8/14) Tonight is the first night we have been able to watch the sun setting over the water in the western sky! Prince of Wales Island tonight. Heading to the Gulf first thing.
