24.01.2022 Looking like extras from The Inbetweeners, Adam and Darryl arrived on a backpacking adventure in August 2010 and have since taken the youth industry/internet by storm... we are stoked to announce they will be our official Emcees for the Youth Tourism Conference. 21.01.2022 We were insanely lucky at this years Youth Tourism Conference to hear from the amazing Scotty Connell who has created one of the most unique and personalised tour companies within Australia... I was stoked on the opportunity to share my journey at the 2019 Adventure Tourism Awards Youth Tourism Conference. said Scotty. His key points focused on the steps that led to the success he’s now enjoying in his business Kimberley Spirit, his destination marketing brand The Kimberley..., Australia (Australia’s largest social media platform to represent the Kimberley region of North Western Australia with over 200,000 followers), his recently published book ‘100 things to see in the Kimberley’ and finally his Kimberley Spirit Foundation. The foundation is his ‘why’ and exists to empower the next generation of Kimberley kids via mentorship, food programs and ambassador roles within the remote towns and communities across the region. YOU CAN HELP!!!! Every Kimberley Spirit shirt sold converts to 3 meals for kids who are in need and creates awareness about the challenges these youth face living in such an isolated part of Australia. The shirts are available at www.kimberleyspirit.com/apparel Thank you to everyone for the terrific feedback and genuine interest in my vision. It was really humbling. Stay stoked. Scotty
21.01.2022 We couldnt be more excited to see this industry-led awards program and conference grow even more in 2019... but, we couldnt have done it without a bigger and better venue!! We were so thrilled with the venue, service and facilities provided for the Youth Tourism Conference at The Island Gold Coast and official after-party at Duke's Parlour in 2018, so its no wonder why were so stoked to be also hosting the official awards night (The Glassies) in the brand new Katarzyna fu...nction space The Glasshouse in 2019! The Adventure Tourism Awards are all about coming together to celebrate being part of an industry that is resilient, passionate and committed to providing great products and experiences for our sector Wed like to formerly thank Stacy and her incredible team at The Island and Bunk Surfers for their amazing and continued support of the youth tourism industry!!

12.01.2022 During the 2019 Adventure Tourism Awards, businesses both big and small were recognised for their achievements across 34 categories on Thursday 14 November at The Island Gold Coast. The event was organised by Adventure Queensland (AQ), the peak backpacking and independent travel industry body for Queensland, who last year identified the need for industry collaboration within the Australian and New Zealand youth tourism sector. Working alongside Backpacker Operators Associatio...n NSW (BOA) and the Backpacker Youth Tourism Advisory Panel (BYTAP), the Adventure Tourism Awards provided an opportunity for industry members to come together and celebrate outstanding contribution and excellence. 2018/19 Vice President of Adventure Queensland, Anita Butler said that it was great to see over 350people travel to the Gold Coast to celebrate the 2019 Youth Tourism Conference and Adventure Tourism Awards and support each others hard work and success. The Adventure Tourism sector is a vital part of the Australian and New Zealand tourism offering. These awards are made extra special with the inclusion of 30% consumer voting and the expert individual judging panel weighted evenly for the remaining 70% of final scoring. This year, the awards covered 34 categories including 4 new categories for Cultural Tourism and the separation of National Tour and National Activity categories to differentiate between multi-day and single day tours. The awards recognise the best of the best in travel agencies, tour/activity, innovation, cultural tourism, sustainability and accommodation. Entrants were judged based on their individual points of difference, unique selling points, customer reviews, business achievements and their links to the Adventure Tourism industry. Congratulations to all the finalists and winners of the night. Your passion and commitment for our segment is evident and the achievement is so very well deserved! Anita said. The ceremony was put together by the volunteer based AQ committee with the amazing help from the team at Oz Party Events and in a true example of industry collaboration has only been made possible due to the wonderful support of sponsors such as Tourism Australia, Smart Bunks, Destination Gold Coast, Griffith University, Tourism Noosa, Allsopp Bunting Insurance, Adventium Technology, TMS Talent, Bookme, Ocean Rafting, The Island Gold Coast, BUNK, and Disaronno.
