19.01.2022 I read a news story last night that left me with tears rolling. Recently a couple flying over Hervey Bay witnessed a mother humpback whale who had just given birth. The baby was lifeless and was being pushed to shore by the current. The mother in a desperate attempt to save her baby kept lifting it out of the ocean on her nose. The couple circled above watching and then saw the baby’s tail flick and take its first breath. They said when the baby did this the mother let out an... almighty spray. . What an incredible thing to witness! . 09.01.2022 We made a last minute decision to leave Hervey Bay in the afternoon instead of the following morning and drive not too far away to Bundaberg. Having lived there in my teens I had recollections of a beautiful spot nearby Elliott Heads. So we decided to stay there for the night. I had forgotten just how beautiful it is!!! . Like all of our road trips we jam as many places in as we can in the short time we have. It’s a prelude to the places we will return and stay longer on a ‘b...ig’ road trip. 04.01.2022 Crystal clear water and white sand beach where the sand does not get hot. Sounds like the perfect place to be! . The sand here contains 98% silica which makes it extremely fine and soft like baby powder.
