25.01.2022 Ajax Wipes have created a fun device that allows you to "wipe your social life clean". By connecting your Facebook or Twitter accounts, the application allows you to spring clean all those old sites or brands you "Liked" some time ago. Its quite a fun and surprisingly useful device to promote an FMCG product online. Check it out here:... http://ajaxsocialwipes.com/

24.01.2022 One of the most viewed campaigns in 2013 was Doves "Real Beauty Sketches" campaign. Part of Doves ongoing campaign based on "real beauty", the campaign generated a bit of controversy but also garnered over 62 million views in the USA. Around 138m worldwide. Its quite an insightful video.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XpaOjMXyJGk

24.01.2022 Shades of Far Side cartoons (at 43 secs) in this fun TVC for UK mobile/ISP network Hutchinson 3G.

24.01.2022 As developing content for your brand becomes more and more commonplace, its worthwhile checking out a recent effort from Corona Beer. Produced by an Australian crew in Mexico, the 12 minute video plays beautifully with Coronas brand positioning. The budget is probably a little bit more than what most Australian advertisers can afford.

24.01.2022 TAW recently launched a new website for our client Simply Fresh Produce. This is part of the launch of a new range of packaged fresh vegetables currently being trialled through Woolies. Check out the website below....and try the Clean & Cut range at your local Woolies.

23.01.2022 There are some weird people in the world. Heres a sample of some of the weirder search terms people used in 2013: > How many dolphins die in car accidents each year? > What do lazy wives cook for dinner?... > What is the future for sheep looking like? > Why do women like to talk after sex? ...and my favourite (as if you need to ask): How is my wife pregnant when Ive had a vasectomy? Heres a little video on the list.

23.01.2022 Last week for someone to go in the running to WIN an ALL-New MY20 Jeep Compass. Great TVC campaign by our clients Marina Mirage & Oracle Boulevard.

22.01.2022 While SBS will be delivering big audiences with the World Cup now started, its interesting to note that 7 of its top 20 programs in 2014 have been food shows. Like French Food Safari, Gourmet Gardener etc. Luke Nguyens programs are now showing in 168 countries...just short of the 175 countries viewing the world cup! Probably a few less viewers too!

22.01.2022 Check out these fantastic videos...most have been taken using the ubiquitous Gro Pro. Some amazing footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBCOMG2F2Zk

21.01.2022 Newest TVC for Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

21.01.2022 Monash University has become the first "brand" in the world to gain a Top Level Domain (TLD) name. That is, Monash University can now use ".monash" instead of .edu or .com.au etc for its online presence. But dont get too excited about creating your own TLD. Initial application price is $185,000...then theres an annual fee!

21.01.2022 We are now on Instagram. Follow us for inspiration and all things TAW. https://www.instagram.com/p/BQ1vnZeAS4z/?taken-by=insta_taw

20.01.2022 Channel 7 won the "INXS versus Schapelle" Sunday night viewing bout last night. Sevens "INXS" pulled 1.97 million viewers outrating Nines Schapelles 1.02 million. Overall Seven pulled a 37.6% share for the night compared with Nines 27%, TENs 20.5% and the ABC at 11.9%.

20.01.2022 Heres another buzzword to add to your collection: SoLoMo. Its been around for a while but only starting to gain some acceptance in the wider marketing community. In short, SoLoMo is an abbreviation for "social-local-mobile" and is a holistic term to cover marketing that links geo-targeting with social media via a smartphone. ... Whether it sticks as a term remains to be seen but it is being used in marketing circles more and more. You can read more about SoLoMo here: http://www.techopedia.com/definition/28492/solomo

20.01.2022 If youve ever wondered what to write in the Subject Line for your business emails, heres an article on "5 Tips to Attract Readers". The article is on the Nielsen Norman Group website. The Nielsen part of the name is Jakob Nielsen, one of the top web useability experts in the world.

18.01.2022 How do you get peoples attention in an effort to increase organ donations? How about burying a $500,000 Bentley. Thats exactly what the Brazilian Association of Organ Transplants did. They got a famous eccentric Brazilian billionaire (Chiquinho Scarpa) to bury his Bentley in the back yard of his mansion.... The interesting thing was how outraged people were at the total waste of burying the Bentley. Which played well for the Transplant Association who argued that is was such a waste for people to be buried without sharing their organs. Organ donations jumped 31% in one month! http://www.dandad.org//outdoor-adver/23101/bentley-burial/

18.01.2022 Googles recent $3.2 billion purchase of Nest is part of Google moving into whats being called "The Internet of Things". The idea of an internet connected fridge for example, has been around for a while (and not really caught on) but whats happening is that the hardware & software for the home is becoming more sophisticated and less expensive. Google was an earlier investor in Nest during its start-up phase, so its purchase is no real surprise...just the price tag! $3.2 bil...lion! Not bad for a company that only launched in 2010. To understand more about The Internet of Things - and its nothing really new - heres an explanation.

16.01.2022 Wouldnt it be nice to have a share of Samsungs global marketing budget. $US14 billion! That puts it on par with the entire GDP of Iceland and more than the national GDP of that crazy place North Korea. Amazing!

15.01.2022 What a very cool video from Honda.

14.01.2022 What do you do when youre running low on funds and your pizza delivery days are behind you. Well, this enterprising US citizen used their pizza delivery experience to setup a marijuana delivery service in Washington state. With the sale of marijuana legal in Washington, Evan Cox set up Winterlife to deliver dope in and around Seattle.... Cox reckons this is easier than delivering pizzas as you dont have to keep the product warm and your product range is much simpler. So how successful is Winterlife? According to news reports, their turnover is already hitting $1 million a month and they employ 50 people! I wonder if Dominos will venture into this? After all, a pizza is a good idea when you get the munchies!

12.01.2022 What makes a video generate 80 million views as opposed to a few thousand views? There are many theories on the subject and this article claims to have a few insights into making a successful viral video. All good ideas but unfortunately none of the samples shown were cheap to produce. The Van-Damme video for Volvo was probably around the $1 to $2 million mark.

12.01.2022 Heres a very clever use of technology and video. A Hong Kong movie theatre asks its patrons to leave their mobiles ON when they enter the movie. Using that, Volkswagen made an eye opening ad.... https://www.youtube.com/embed/JHixeIr_6BM

12.01.2022 News Corp put on a breakfast briefing today on the the "new/old" marketing model for the 21st Century. The presenter was social researcher David Chalke. While hes quite opinionated, he backed up his comments with copious research and insight. We live in interesting and changing times. I dont have a video of his presentation from today but in the video below, he speaks on one of the themes discussed today...the "death" of social media.... Worth a viewing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpGuymdvk0w

10.01.2022 The Bullets are back!

09.01.2022 The new "Coliseum" TV commercial for Samsungs Curved TV is quite an extravagance. Shot in a used quarry in New Zealand, it took 8 weeks to shoot and hundreds of hours in post production. There were over 350 extras in the commercial and a video effects team of 30 people. Production costs would have run into the millions. ... Check out a video of the making of the "Coliseum" TV commercial. http://www.moving-picture.com/work/samsung-coliseum

08.01.2022 Saw this very interesting video from a US consultancy on Over 50s. Admittedly the stats are US but they most certainly would be relevant to Australian demographics. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQ3Ha1JRFt0

08.01.2022 The man who designed probably the most ubiquitous typeface of recent times, Helvetica, has died recently. Mike Parker was called "the godfather of fonts" by many in the business having been involved in the development of hundreds of typefaces over the years. But Helvetica was probably the most widely used. It features in logo designs for such major brands such as Microsoft, Toyota, Lufthansa, Gap, even Apple. ... Its been used so much though that it has almost been done to death...no pun intended. Vale Mike Parker.

08.01.2022 This is a great parody on the broader marketing industrys penchant for "new technology" rather than having a great idea first. Produced for the Creative Fuel Conference in July, the project brings together almost every "new best thing since sliced bread" technology. Its called "The Worlds First Crowd Sourced 3D Printed QR Code, Live Streamed Via Go Pro To A Smart Phone Or Tablet Device Drone Delivery System".... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GD3W4x-R6OI See more

08.01.2022 A small example of a social media fail. St George Banks internet banking has been down for a while today. I used their Facebook page to see if there was any advise/update. No. Nothing there. And there were a number of posts from people about the same problem...no internet banking. But no response from St George...and nothing on their main sites homepage either.... However, their social media people did have time to post a story this morning about "whats your mums best recipe"! Go figure.

07.01.2022 We had a photoshoot for one of our clients (Brookwater) yesterday and in one scene we had a couple in an infinity pool. They might look like theyre enjoying it here but in reality theyre freezing. While the sun was out, the pool is in the shade and it was very brisk. Their smiles are more grimaces. By the way, this is a real shot. Taken at a house in Brookwater with no Photoshop work at all.

07.01.2022 Heres a chance to win a $10,000 outdoor home addition from one of clients, Apollo Patio. https://www.facebook.com/apollopatios

03.01.2022 Heres an interesting presentation from TEDx Sydney about how our personalities change according to external factors. Like all TEDx videos, its only 10 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIo82WKajRc

03.01.2022 Everyones a winner with State of Origin! QLD thrashed NSW and won the last game 32-8. NSW finally won a State Of Origin after 8 years.... Channel 9 scored some of the highest ratings ever over the three games this year: > Game 1: 2.59 million viewers > Game 2: 2.69 million viewers > Game 3: 2.14 million viewers* (*5 city metro) Bigger than 10 bears!

02.01.2022 Great to see our client Dracula's Cabaret Gold Coast is back, if you haven't seen the current show Muertos, here's a sneak peak !!

01.01.2022 If you havent heard that funky music track to the new TVC for the Ghan, check it out here. It was created by Perth-based "mash-up" producer Pojo (aka Nick Bertke) who has a great talent for creating very catchy videos. I loved his Microsoft video. ... http://pogomix.net/

01.01.2022 No surprise that the 1st game of the State of Origin was the highest rating show in Sydney and Brisbane. It pulled over 4 million viewers nationally. Surprising though was that it was also no. 1 show for Melbourne last night and top 10 in Adelaide and Perth!
