05.01.2022 Happy International Women’s Day! Today we would like to focus on closing the gap. On Wednesday Pomanie and Kate attended NAB’s International Women’s Day break...fast at the Calile Hotel. The theme of the day was #Eachforequal which re-enforced the importance that Equality isn’t just a women’s issue. The main message of the day which resonated well with Pomanie and Kate was the need to ensure we continue to strive for Economic Independence for Women, as unfortunately female poverty in women over 50 is only increasing. Economic Independence is about expanding the capacity of women to make genuine choices about their lives through full and equal participation in all spheres of life. The gender gap in Retirement Savings and Superannuation is particularly concerning with women retiring with 45% less Superannuation than men and surviving an additional 5 years.
