24.01.2022 This is absolutely infuriating but not at all surprising unfortunately. Even in a 'developed' country such as our own we still struggle to meet conservation tar...gets and the disparity between state and federal objectives is clear. The Swift Parrot is critically endangered and supposed to be protected by the federal EPBC Act, yet somehow Tasmanian logging agreements are able to override federal law and so viciously destroy threatened species habitat. The Commonwealth needs to stand up for the entities it wishes to protect and put the state back in its place. See more

18.01.2022 Make a submission here to help save endangered Turpentine Ironbark Forest in North Ryde from unnecessary clearing. Be quick because the deadline for submissions is the 5th of April 2018!

07.01.2022 A project we've been working on for a few years now. The taxonomy of the Pseudophryne bibronii complex.

07.01.2022 This tree has amazing habitat features especially given its suburban location - plenty of hollows and is used by Cockatoos and Lorikeets for nesting. And now it appears City of Parramatta Council may be planning to have it cut down! We will be doing what we can to have this tree protected like it should be.

04.01.2022 3% canopy loss in a single year! This equates a loss of 15,000 trees in Hornsby Shire Council. Let's hope the Council can do something to change this, at this rate we will be out of trees in 34 years!

03.01.2022 Some photos from a recent herpetofauna survey at Ingleside Chase and Irrawong Reserves in Warriewood on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. The survey was associated with ongoing bush regeneration efforts in the reserves, to look for correlations between habitat restoration and fauna diversity. A total of 7 reptile and 6 frog species were detected this year, including the threatened Giant Burrowing Frog (Heleioporus australiacus) and locally uncommon Brown Tree Snake (Boiga irregularis). Thanks to Jayden, Gen and Leo for assisting with the survey!
