22.01.2022 Send off It’s very rare that a photo will leave me speechless, this particular shot of Norah Head though, this one has left me speechless! I didn’t expect to capture any colour that afternoon so instead I opted for a blend of one over-exposed image to really bring out the lush greens in the lawn surrounding the lighthouse as well as capture more of the finer details within the lighthouse structure itself. 17.01.2022 Potential On Tuesday afternoon, one seriously powerful and energetic storm made it’s way up the NSW Central Coast towards Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. Initially, it wasn’t looking that great for lightning as it wasn’t a particularly strong cell, but as it trekked north, it became quite intense and resulted in one spectacular display of lightning! 14.01.2022 Angularity This past Friday, all forecasts and conditions indicated one seriously powerful storm cell was on the cards, I chose a spot looking across the lake as it provided a perfect open area to potentially capture lightning from the storm cell as it tracked north through the mountains. What I didn’t anticipate was a layer of high cloud mixed with a band of light rain sitting across the lake which resulted in some incredible golden hour tones! 11.01.2022 Shimmer Yesterday, the conditions were looking perfect to capture some colour in a nice bank of high-cloud that was sitting across Tuggerah Lake. The colours present were a lot more vibrant than I initially anticipated thanks to a late afternoon storm that had made it’s way along the coast, although there was no lightning around for after the sunset, I’m happy to get some rich, vibrant colours for sunset instead. __________________________________ Canon EOS-R... 10.01.2022 Hidden Gems A couple of weeks back, I visited one of my favourite spots for landscape photography the Munmorah State Conservation Area. I’ve explored this place numerous times but on that afternoon, the tides and swell played into my favour and presented one of the most mesmerising seascape opportunities I haven’t shot for a fairly long time. 03.01.2022 Kinetic This past Friday, the forecasts indicated that a powerful storm was to develop in the late afternoon over the Watagan National Park with a potential to push through to Newcastle. Although the storm cell didn’t push through to Newcastle, it parked itself up in the mountains and provided a perfect opportunity to capture images of lightning bolts without having to worry about the being stuck by ‘Blue Lightning’. 02.01.2022 Striking The last storms of 2020 in the Central Coast/Lake Macquarie areas were some of the best of the year in terms of lightning and shooting conditions that I was able to try and capture some bolts out of. This shot here was nothing more than a fluke shot of being in the right spot at the right time, the initial forecast models looked quite promising for a lot of lighting strikes but as with the majority of storms in this area, this one dissipated into another dud storm.... 01.01.2022 New Beginnings Really digging back into the archives for this one today, this spectacular sunrise was probably the best sunrise of 2020 that I was able to photograph. The rich colours combined with some denser clouds to present one stunning display of colour and moodiness.
