21.01.2022 Aesthete is so excited for all of the incredible upcoming weddings we have in 2020! Over the next two weekends, we'll be out in full force, with team members across Noosa, Sydney, Melbourne, and Tasmania! After that, we're closer to home for the rest of the year, which also suits us just fine. As a mumma to a little person, I find joy in travelling (hellooo feeling like a free human, no cleaning up spills or monitoring screen time for a whole weekend - yay! ) and I al...so find joy in the nights when I get to drive straight home after a wedding (those sweet little moments of whispering goodnight to an already peacefully sleeping bub are heart-melty!) 20.01.2022 To our beautiful Aesthete family The Covid-19 outbreak is affecting so many in our communities. The Wedding industry, including ourselves, are feeling it. With many couples needing to postpone and even cancel their bookings, and almost overnight losing 6 months' worth of income as a result, it has been a devastating time as small business owners. We know we are not the only ones ... We are however trying to be the guiding hand and act with kindness and compassion for all of our couples who are feeling just as thrown in the deep as we are, and help them to navigate into new wedding plans as easily as possible. This is devastating news for our couples and we are heartbroken for each and every one of you. All the time, love, and energy poured into these days that were fast approaching, now dashed. Sending warmth and love to our Aesthete family What this means from us: We will work with each of our couples t...o find new dates that align with all of their beloved and important vendors. We will have the option to schedule your new dates from September 2020 onward, with the view that we can and will be fully flexible to reschedule again if restrictions have not been lifted by this time. We so appreciate couples who can reschedule for a 2020 date, leaving our 2021 calendar open to new clients while we try to balance the loss of the first half of our financial year. However, whatever your call is we will support you and be here to do what we can to guide you through this next stage. Stay kind, stay strong, and support one another through this time. 03.01.2022 Yesterday, in our spree of bridal gown sharing / swooning, we shared a couple of photos with ‘plus size’ brides I couldn’t BELIEVE the outpouring of messages thanking or congratulating our business for showing women that ‘looked so different from all the bridal magazines’... Ohhhh boy It was a moment of joy for you guys, but your responses made us sad! Sad because it’s so abnormal and apparent when a bigger body is posted in a bridal context, that it’s a cause for cele...bration when finally someone does it Brides, grooms, and even wedding party members, please please please take this to heart: you do not have to look a certain way to be a stunning bride / groom / brides maid / grooms man I mean it - seriously. The thing that will come through on your day, to your loved ones, and in your photos, is how you FEEL. And if that feeling is tainted by any amount of stress or sadness built up over heavily restrictive dieting or a years worth of ‘you’re going to look awful if you don’t lose x kilos by the wedding’ self talk, it is just NOT worth it. Please please please, take my word for it. The most beautiful people in the room are those who are kind, and thoughtful, and happy and relaxed. We all know that! But the wedding industry has a lot of work to do in representing all brides and grooms, and you’d be forgiven for thinking that a bride is only ever a size 2 and a groom isn’t far behind. We need to do better to show you the love, joy, happiness and magic that happens on the wedding days of all humans, not just the most conventionally normalised ones. Stay healthy, but stay vigilant about being kind and accepting of your body. It does so many wonderful things for you, like walking you down the aisle to the one you love most in the world, or embracing them once you get there.
