21.01.2022 Whitsunday Regional Council held their swearing in ceremony for Councillors today followed by the statutory meeting in the Bowen Council Chambers. Due to social... distancing requirements the Councillors were sworn in one at a time by acting CEO Jason Bradshaw. Returning for his second term in the top job, Mayor Andrew Willcox welcomed new and returning Councillors and said Council was eager to get on with the job of helping the Whitsunday community navigate the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Councillors voted to appoint the Deputy Mayor on a rotation basis, with Cr John Collins, who served his previous term as Deputy Mayor, appointed for the first year of the rotation.
