24.01.2022 Dear TAFE members, did you know Under the Individual Workload Scheduling Clause 5.4.3 (TAFE SA Education Staff Enterprise Agreement 2016), when the scheduled hours of Instruction and Assessment are unable to be accurately predicted in advance ("work of uncertain duration") an estimate of the time taken for such work will be advised to the lecturer. Work of uncertain duration may include workplace assessment and communication with student in e-learning courses. ... 20.01.2022 Did you know... If you are a TRT who was scheduled for work that was cancelled due to the COVID shutdown, then you will be paid. (DfE COVID-19 Update 18 November). If you were booked or scheduled to work ... 1. Contact the site to ensure that payment will be processed. You can provide the site with the information in the DfE communication. 2. If your are not paid, email the AEU with evidence of your booking and other details we may need to follow up your matter up with DfE. Evidence may be an SMS, email or screen shot of online booking. It’s crucial that you undertake the initial contact with the site. AEU officers are unable to pursue a non-payment with your employer until the payment has been refused. Methodologies may include:... use of e-learning technologies, including online activities; project work; assessment/test; industry assessment; classroom delivery; distance delivery, using a range of platforms; Recognition of Current Competence (RCC); and/or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). 17.01.2022 Did you know... At times the union is contacted by non-teaching staff who are eligible for the training and professional development scheme, and have completed their training hours, but their school or preschool requires them to work in week 10. Clause 4.13.5 of the enterprise agreement reads:... "An eligible SSO, AEW or ECW who was requested or required and performs work during week 10 of term 4 shall be provided with time off in lieu. In the event that time off in lieu is not reasonably available, that staff member shall be remunerated for the work done in that week at the ordinary rate of pay." 03.01.2022 Dear TAFE members, did you know Under Clause 4.12.4 of the TAFE SA Educational Staff Enterprise Agreement 2016, a Lecturer who is required to undertake the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent minimum qualification requirement) is entitled to have the costs of undertaking the Certificate met by the employer. However, the employer may refuse to meet the costs under clause 4.12.4 if:... The Certificate IV or equivalent is not undertaken within TAFE SA; or The lecturer is repeating a unit or subject in the Certificate IV or equivalent in which they are enrolled. 01.01.2022 Did you know... A number of school leaders have recently contacted the AEU about their classification level if they return to a classroom teaching position. We have told them that permanent teachers who have accumulated five years or 1035 days of service from 1 January 1990 who have held leadership positions of key teacher, Band A or Band B leader, seconded teacher or a combination of these, who were not reappointed to such positions, shall be classified and paid at the... level of key teacher. (Please see Enterprise Agreement 2020, page 76, Schedule 3 clauses 4.2,) Note: Special provisions apply for seconded teacher positions. The current salary for key teacher fall-back is $107,350.
