13.01.2022 Lancing a haematoma... This horse developed a haematoma 3 weeks ago that had failed to resorb. After being clipped, local anaesthetic was applied and the area was scrubbed and lanced. The site was left open to let drain and should heal over with a minimal scar.

06.01.2022 Case Study- Tarsocrural synovitis History - The horse was examined for moderate swelling of the tarsus (hock) and a Gr 1/5 lameness after slipping on concrete. Initial treatment with systemic anti-inflammatories, bandaging and box rest failed to completely resolve the swelling. No abnormalities were seen on radiographs of the hock. Treatment- A single dose of intra-articulate Arthramid was injected into the tarsocrural joint and the horse was put into a structured rehabi...litation plan. Outcome - At 2 weeks post-treatment there was a significant reduction in the amount of effusion within the joint and by week 6 post-treatment the joint was clinically normal and the horse back in work.
