23.01.2022 Not one person on social media has ever asked me ‘Charley, what are the best books you’ve read recently?’ but that’s not going to stop me from sharing! I’ve read a few really memorable books recently, like recently before things got REALLY crazy with favourite things (and quite a few that were ‘pretty good’ too). I thought I’d share my absolute favourites in case you are looking for recommendations for a summer reading list. The Giver of Stars by @jojomoyesofficial, All the L...ight We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, Educated by @Tara Westover, Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman and This One Wild and Precious Life by @_sarahwilson_ The Bronze Horseman by Paulina Simons still stands as one of my all time favourite books so that might give some insight into the type of story I enjoy. Actually I really like most of Paulina Simons and JoJo Moyes books and absolutely loved First We Make The Beast Beautiful by Sarah Wilson. If there’s any books you’d recommend I’d love to know! I plan to take a little break after Christmas and definitely need some new additions to my reading list. Happy Summer everyone! 21.01.2022 This might just seem like the weirdest thing EVER but I want to see what happens if I have a month away from social media (apart from losing bulk followers, dropping engagement and being punished by the algorithms ). As far as business goes this could be the worst decision I’ve ever made but being a one woman show means that if I want a break from social media then my business takes a break too (from PM’s too - sorry!). Strategically this is ‘bad timing’ because this little ...business of mine is growing so much right now and has grown more over the last few months than in the whole first few years (thanks natural deodorant sticks!) and it seems a bit crazy to step away from this incredible momentum but I just feel like I need this for me. The website has just been restocked with deodorants and all website orders will still be processed and sent out as usual. There are so many big things going on behind the scenes right now and I need to try and focus my attention there (lately I’ve become really distracted by social media ). 21.01.2022 DIY Beeswax Food Wrap Kits online now (with the other Gift Boxes)! www.afewfavouritethings.com.au The hard work has been done and they are essentially melt and pour organic beeswax wraps. The story goes something like this... ... @littlespriglinen yesterday afternoon: Hey, what do you use to make your beeswax food wraps? Me: Organic Beeswax, Organic Jojoba Oil, Tree Resin, bla bla bla, you melt it all together in a double boiler and then you bla bla bla... @littlespriglinen: Where do you get tree resin? Me: Oh I’ve got everything you need right here, I’ll get some to you. Also me: making beeswax wraps at 3am (because that just seems to be the way I roll sometimes ) to retest the recipe. They turned out amazing!! Also me: I could make it easier by pre-mixing/melting everything in the right ratios and pouring into moulds. Also me: I could make kits to make it really easy for other people to do this at home and make their own beautiful beeswax wraps. Also me: DIY Beeswax Wrap Kits (including certified organic cotton fabric, certified organic beeswax, certified organic Jojoba oil & tree resin, and a pastry brush) available online now. Enough materials to make up to 8 beeswax wraps depending on size and technique. A great Mother’s Day gift or purposeful and rewarding activity to do at home. (Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I only have certified organic ingredients on hand so that obviously makes things a little more expensive than non organic ingredients but I think it is probably totally worth it since these are designed to be used with food). It’s one of the reasons I feel so proud of this product. A subscription actually sounds like a brilliant idea!! Who would be interested in a subscription so you don’t have to worry about replacing your deodorant every few months - it would just automatically turn up on your doorstep at just the right time? And bee friendly flower seeds could arrive with each deodorant delivery for you to plant in your empty deodorant tubes? And we could probably work out a small discount for subscribers? Is this a good idea or am I getting excited about nothing?

01.01.2022 I thought today, being the 50th Anniversary of World Earth Day, was the perfect time to tell you about one of my favourite things about our all natural deodorants. There are lots of things to love about them; they are ALL natural, bicarb & aluminium free, they REALLY work and are getting beautiful 5 star reviews and they smell like lemony sunshine but - one of my most favourite things is the zero waste, plastic free, packaging. The packaging is home compostable, so once you... have finished using the deodorant, you can literally plant a seed in it and then plant the entire thing in a pot or your garden and it will break down as your plant grows. This is great because you don’t have to upset your seedling by repotting it and it also means that there is no further energy required to ‘recycle’ this packaging or try and find a way to reuse it around your home. It will completely return to the earth where it came from. Truly zero waste! They are online now www.afewfavouritethings.com.au Please be careful though! Not all paper/card tubes that look like this are compostable. Most of them actually have a plastic based lining inside them. Obviously you don’t want that in your garden/breaking down in the environment. Our deodorant tubes are lined with a plant based lining which prevents the oils in the deodorant being absorbed by the paper. This lining is fully compostable. Also there is a difference between compostable products that need an industrial composting facility to break down vs home compostable products. Just something to be aware of when trying to make the most sustainable choices The seed I have chosen to grow in this one is controversial... coriander It has been my intention forever to have small packets of bee friendly seeds to go with the deodorants and I still will, but all good things take time... especially when I am in charge of making them happen

Not that you can see much of her I cannot thank her enough for her help and support with this little business of mine at the moment (oh and for her brilliant ability to not trip over anything whilst carrying so many parcels into the post office without being able to see a thing)! She has been cooking meals for me while I have been focussed on making products and packing orders and she has been packaging products like a superstar. Although, if your label is crooked, it’s TOTALLY her fault!
