23.01.2022 Hi all, Please be aware that due to high demand there is an approx. 6 to 8 week wait for Private one on one programs, including the Puppy program. In addition, it is taking longer to respond to inquiries and some may fall through the cracks; so please contact us again if you have not heard anything for 2-3 days.- Thanks for the understanding.
23.01.2022 Always nice to get these updates. This was from a recent client that contacted us due to among other things, the dog bothering the kids during play or when friends came over. Happy to see the results in action !
21.01.2022 Arya (GSD) and Spotty arrived last week for their Board and Trains. Both doing nicely. :-)
21.01.2022 Catching up after a hectic few weeks - here we have Evie who has come along in leaps and bounds, I must say her owners really did put in the effort that was great to see. She can now hold sits and drops for tens of minutes, walks great on a lead (which was a problem before) and even do stuff like ignore raw meat until allowed to have it ;-) Great to see !
21.01.2022 I've been hearing some great things in relation to Josh and Sylvia's Pet minding and Sitting. If your looking someone to look after your pets give them a call. :-)
21.01.2022 Always nice to get some kind words.... "First thing we did after getting our first 12 week old German Shepherd was arranging private lessons with Christian. He taught both my wife and I how to train the puppy to do basic commands as well to treat the pup in a way it would make him obedient and behave the way we want him to be in and outside the house.... Christian teaches you a wealth of knowledge and I can't recommend him highly enough. We wouldn't have gotten a second GSD if the first was behaving badly "
20.01.2022 Brutus and Storm, a couple of Great Danes that love going for their walks. Obviously interested in the lake and birds.
20.01.2022 Lupi (a beautiful Husky female) has come to stay for a board and train and is enjoying some bones to help settle in. She is also responding very well to the training. :-)
20.01.2022 More Keeshonds - Mindy and Nedley have come for a Board and Train, going to have lots of fur running around !

19.01.2022 Hello all, We hope 2018 is treating you well. Leading up to and especially over Christmas and New Years we experienced a very high number of inquiries. So apologies for the long response times and slow replies to messages. Most of the messages, emails, voice mails and facebook messengers have been replied too. However, for one reason or another not all messages could be responded to, if you have contacted us in the past few weeks and have not had a response, please try again and we will be happy to help. - Thanks. ;-)
19.01.2022 Part of a dog's learning is being able to understand the command in different environments. Here we have Mindy, here for a Board and Train, holding a distance drop at the local shopping center.
18.01.2022 A somewhat common issue we get called about is reactivity / aggression towards other dogs and/or people. That was Sunny's issue, with the owners not sure what to do as every time a jogger or another dog walked past the house Sunny would go nuts. Now here we are on lesson number three, and Sunny is happily holding a drop next to Chani. Good job Sunny !

18.01.2022 Some highlights from the past week or so, firstly we have training with Lacie the St Bernard, then some training and walking with Barb and Blaze the Great Danes. Next is Oscar relaxing on the bed (he's a good boy, who has been previously trained so is allowed up on the bed) last we have Mateo the Koolie, who is learning about borders and boundaries while here on a Board and Train. :-)

18.01.2022 Gday all, Belated Happy New Year ! We are back from Summer holidays and catching up on all the emails and phone calls. There was a high volume to get through, but we have responded to almost everyone. However, some messages had the wrong return address/number or the voicemail was garbled. So if you have not heard anything yet, and still need help with your dog, please try again. Thanks. :-)
18.01.2022 Fantastic to see and hear about ! Affinity Dog uses a very similar dog training methodology and techniques that are used by "Lead the Way" While we don't have a therapy dog course, we can train your dog to be more obedient and have better manners (like a therapy dog would have to be) and of course how to be a calmer dog overall. As you can imagine with being a therapy dog, you can't muck around on the obedience.
17.01.2022 Something I often discuss with clients is that if you get time to do nothing else, get some time to practice a drop with your dogs. (minutes not seconds) Here we have Mindy and Nedley on Friday afternoon practicing their drops with Chani helping out. Then Nedley practing in a different environment while the handler has stepped away. Finally door or border boundaries are a good thing to practice as well. (and its so cute seeing all the fluff !)
17.01.2022 Some scenes from the past week or so, Firstly Koda, who really has the Down stay working well, then Fire, working on borders, which brings us to Happy and Lucky here for a board and refresher train and lastly yours truly and Balou. :-)
17.01.2022 Cameron is a well known and sought after dog trainer from the U.S, in addition she is the director of a successful Dog Rescue organisation. She also earlier this year hosted a summit with a number of arguably the best trainers in North America.(so she knows what she is talking about) I did think about if I should share this video or not, as she is pretty direct and does not pull any punches on the topic. However after seeing some cases recently that could be headed in the direction Cameron is talking about, I think as she says, the information has to get our there. BTW, this also applies to adults and adult dogs, I found myself this week in a face-off with two aggressive dogs as the owner was completely oblivious to the situation. Dogs (predators) carrying out wolf pack hunting activity in your lounge room is not "cute"
16.01.2022 In the never ending effort to improve and expand my knowledge, this past weekend I attended the Tyler Muto Seminar in Sydney. Tyler is an internationally renowned dog trainer and behaviour expert. He is the owner and training director of K9 Connection, the President of IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals) and one of the lead instructors at Leerburg with at least 4 courses. It was a great weekend and jam packed, so apologies to anyone inquiring or trying t...o get hold of me. I think I have caught up now, if I missed you, please let me know. - Thanks. #tylermutto #thek9company #affinitydog
16.01.2022 Not training related but anyway...

15.01.2022 One the most common issues that we get asked about is loose leash walking. One question that comes up is "how much pulling is too much ?" Our answer is "you should be able to walk the dog with one finger" Other trainers may have other thresholds, but that's what we strive towards.... If you would like some help with your dog please check us out at : http://www.affinitydog.com.au/
14.01.2022 One activity that is very useful in Dog training is the idea of a border. It helps the dog understand black and white / right and wrong. It also has a lot of practical applications. Here we have Honey practicing her border before going on a walk.
13.01.2022 A past clients niece , walks their formerly leash pulling dog.

11.01.2022 Hello All, Thanks for the interest, but please be aware we are now fully booked for both Private training and Board and Trains for the rest of the year. We are now taking bookings for training starting in Feb. 2019. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Cheers.
10.01.2022 Here we have Velvet remaining nice and calm with her owner, even with other dogs barking at her. We were initially contacted as there was concern Velvet was becoming very Dog reactive and walks were being avoided as a result.
10.01.2022 We have Dudley (White and Tan) and Oscar (Dark fur) staying with us, they have become best of friends and have been playing none stop all day. ;-)
09.01.2022 Trying not to be a grinch here. During the week I was asked by the Rouse Hill Times, to come and take some happy snaps of some dogs playing in the new dog park in Riverstone and then maybe make a comment on how great dog parks are. Long story short, due to the number of contacts I get with dogs becoming aggressive or reactive after incidents at Dog parks I could not go along with the original idea. ... Dog parks can be great places and can be used strategically in a dogs training or rehab. I just find that if people are not paying attention or are unaware of what is happening, we end up with "incidents". I hope that makes sense and just not me being an old grump. http://newslocal.smedia.com.au/rouse-hill-times/
09.01.2022 Hello all - Due to attending an Advanced dog training course, we will have limited availability to respond to messages or train between 9/10/2016 and 16/10/2016, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. You're welcome to leave a message and we will return it as soon as possible. Thank you.
09.01.2022 Feedback for Spotty after 10 Day B&T : Just had my Jack Russell in for 10 days of training with Christian. Amazed at difference in dogs demeanour when Christian dropped him back. Last night was first night at home with the dog not barking to get attention, and he has so far obeyed all the commands Christian taught me. Its great being shown what to do after Christian has done the hard work so that I can continue to work on his obedience skills.
09.01.2022 This came up a few times during the week... again, you don't need to drug your dog into oblivion when treats don't work....

05.01.2022 Catching up after a really flat out couple of weeks. So firstly, sorry if you have had difficulty making contact, there were a couple of garbled voicemail messages and some email issues as well, so if you have not had a response, please try again. Thank you. Now below we have a few of the dogs that we have been working with, Tyson the Rottweiler did great with his puppy training, then Zuess has been responding fantastically with guidance from his owners. Then there is Miso, the huskie that was here for a board and train and finally Eddie the beagle who also completed his puppy training. It's always great to see the progress and transformations from the dogs and owners.

04.01.2022 Some of the dogs we have worked with over the past week.
04.01.2022 I've been walking with Brutus and Storm for a little while now. The owners wanted someone that could handle larger dogs. On that note, for some reason people seem to give me a lot of room when I'm walking them....
04.01.2022 Morning training sessions done, bones chewed, time to chill out on a Friday afternoon. With Oscar, Bella and Lupi. (and of course Chani and Pax)
04.01.2022 Here are some of the Dogs we have worked with over the past few weeks. For some, their issues were extreme leash pulling, dog aggression while others just needed to learn to relax and get their obedience sorted out.. They have all been doing great ;-) - If you need help with your dog, check us out: http://www.affinitydog.com.au/

02.01.2022 Working with Jaq at the dog park. We started by letting her first see all will be ok with our own dogs. Then at the same time training her to listen, and then using that training to assist in the situation. ie. not react to other dogs and seeing its all going to be fine.
02.01.2022 Hi There, Thanks for reaching out and looking at Affinity Dog. Please be aware we will CLOSED from the 13th of Jan. 2019 to the 30th of Jan. 2019. 01.01.2022 Hi all, just an update from this week. Firstly you might have to look hard, but under the tree, we are doing some semi-off leash work with Jessy, who is holding a distance drop. Then we have our board and train dogs, going through their paces. Nikita, the magnificent German Shepherd and Luna the cutie Groodle. Both doing really well. #Affinitydog #dogtraining #dogtrainingsydney #boardandtrain #hillsdistrictdogtraining
01.01.2022 Straight Cut and paste.. Hi Christian. Thanks again for dropping Barney off on Friday. He's doing really well. We went for an hour long walk yesterday and he was great, he got one no/circle but greatly improved in comparison to two weeks ago. We've done two half hour/45 min walks today. The first one we were tailing another dog for a while so we practiced drop to allow for some distance. This afternoon we encountered some dogs behind fences and whilst he was a bit whiney he didn't bark and we quickly moved on. Thank you so much again! We've got a lot of homework to do but already the difference is significant!
01.01.2022 To get really good dogs they should be nice and balanced around other dogs. Here we have Daisy, Kenji, Oscar and Jax holding a drop on Saturday night (what you can't tell is that one of the neighbours is shouting at the top of his lungs) and having a bit of fun on Friday.
01.01.2022 Here we have Jaq, who is doing a Board and Train to help with Dog reactivity. Part of the process of helping with Reactivity is letting the dog see that they can be around other dogs and its all going to be alright.
01.01.2022 This is Tiger having a rest after a great training session, learning about borders / thresholds and heeling.
