24.01.2022 Full Moon Scavenger Hunt is still going ahead tomorrow night at this stage. Will go ahead if light drizzly showers... Obviously if thunder storms or pouring we'll postpone. 22.01.2022 Christmas Games Sunday 13th December 3pm! A fun afternoon of on ground and in saddle games followed by a feed and Christmas Carols with the guitar. $40pp. Bookings essential. Bring your own horse... my horses are reserved for regular clients and will be shared. I'd like to thank all my beautiful clients and friends for sticking with me and supporting me through a very difficult year. 20.01.2022 Beyond proud of this amazing duo! When Rachel bought Elroi she bought with her heart, knowing that he would challenge her. Well challenge her he did... and for the first few weeks made her question her decision and left her wondering if she had acquired a conniving brat rather than faithful steed! But she put in the hard yards and instead of coming out just to get him to do what she wanted... she started coming out and sitting with Elroi. Being with him... connecting with hi...m. An amazing thing happened. Elroi has fallen in love with his human!!! The horse that used to take an hour to catch comes to Rach now. He follows her around. He is attentive to her and enjoys her company. Because he chooses to... not because she made him. Patience, kindness and empathy may take a bit longer, but the rewards are just so sweet! This duo still have a long way to go... but their progress is inspiring and what Affinity Horsemanship is all about. Rachel is such an asset to this place. It's not about being the best rider in the world...if you are a kind soul, with a willing and patient heart... the horses respond. 14.01.2022 WHAT'S ON IN JULY? Saturday 11th July- Bushman's Games. Have some fun in the arena doing gymkhana games Bushman's style. $50pp 2pm start. Saturday 18th July- Full(ish) Moon Scavenger Hunt. Ride around the Kingdom of Equus following the clues, gathering tokens, and completing the tasks. $65pp dinner included. 6pm dinner followed by the ride.... Sunday 26th July- Sunday Funday with barrel games in the arena followed by a group trail ride $40pp 2pm Limited Affinity horses available. 12.01.2022 When it comes to Horsemanship...one of the best lessons I have learned over the years is there is no "one size fits all" method to horse training. As a trainer, you must learn to continually ask questions. You have to work with each horses unique personality. What works with one, may not work with another, and when it doesn't you have to ask more questions, change your tactics, and tweek your method. It's your job to figure them out,,, it's not the horses job to comply to you...r demands. You have to work really hard on your own energy. You have to be very self aware and that takes a level of working on yourself as an emotional being. Effective communication with an animal is very much associated with the energy you give off. This is something not only to be considered but to actively work on. And, it's important to keep learning. Take a bit of this and a bit of that and mould into your own method that works with your personality. There is no right or wrong (as long as the methods are kind). The main purpose is that you and your horse understand each other. If you have been taught with methods that aren't so kind... you have the opportunity to break that cycle and learn a better way. 04.01.2022 Merry Christmas from Affinity Horsemanship! Our Christmas Games consisted of Christmas bauble fishing, dunking runs, and gift runs, and of course our traditiona...l horse decorating!!! Followed by a sausage sizzle (thanks Andrew Neilson), and a big thanks to Rachel who did pretty much everything we backed up with old fashioned Christmas carols with the guitar making up lyrics as needed all in all we had a great afternoon and I appreciate everyone who came along to enjoy the Christmas cheer See more

03.01.2022 WHAT'S ON IN MARCH? Sunday 1st March 3pm-Daytime Scavenger Hunt. Follow the maps and clues around the property collecting the tokens through the Kingdom of Equus. $65pp includes barbeque dinner afterwards Saturday 14th March 9am- Bushman's Obstacle Course.... Starting in the arena and heading around the property with obstacles along the way. $50pp Saturday 21st March 3pm- Harmony Day Around the world on horseback with different games of different cultural/country significance.
