24.01.2022 In July this year, @the_mayflower_sydney completely renovated, re-branded and created a new diverse and luxurious menu offering Located in the heart of Darlinghurst, our mission was to not only capitalise on their street foot traffic but also reach a wider and more specific customer including Sydney-siders, socialites, celebrities, influencers and food bloggers. We partnered with the restaurant to manage their social media & advertising on an ongoing basis, website design ...and development, assisting with launch events, along with graphic design and content creation to support. As part of the partnership, we activated a PR relationship with @mvmnt_agency, whereby 3 launch events, press mentions and influencer/KOL and bloggers were invited into the cafe to enjoy the menu and in-turn post on their platforms. Since the re-launch, all channels have worked hand-in-hand to result in almost 7k new Instagram followers (and counting), an increase of 300% revenue, increased reach, awareness, UGC content and 20+ features in renowned online and print publications including Vogue, Broadsheet and Good Food. What a partnership this has been! With their dinner menu officially kicking off, we can't wait to see their success continue to grow

COVID-19 is here to stay (for a good 3-6 months at least) and its undisputedly been the largest scale catastrophe on businesses across industries that I have ever come across in my lifetime. The question is - what is the impact on marketing? Whether your a business owner, a marketing manager, or a marketer from an agency/freelancer - then that is the question we all are getting nervous about. lets be honest! In my opinion - COVID...-19 is actually going to separate the good marketing from the sh** marketing. As tragic as this virus has been it will give marketers opportunity to react in a creative and innovative way to deliver messages that minimise the damage this virus can have to that particular brand. This will change the way we market ... forever. It will push marketers outside of their comfort barriers that they have gotten so comfortable in and it means they will need to change the message and/or the way they deliver it to have any success in the future. My answer is - at this difficult time, taking into account the industry and the business and any other relevant variable - MARKETING will most definitely be essential to ensure that the entity is still around when this virus passes (which it will). So the truth is there is going to be some challenges ahead. Partner with marketers that are willing to plan ahead, allocate budget efficiently and effectively and most importantly be creative enough to find new ways to communicate to your customer. I am saddened to see the way some humans have responded to this outbreak - if everyone can please simply help each other in the smallest ways and stop worrying about purchasing useless items - we would be on the fast track fixing this.
