25.01.2022 First day of #spring ! #lovenature

25.01.2022 In the wake of rapid spread of #coronavirus, I decided not to do pop up shops any more until when the situation gets better. While adding more medical staffs and facilities in a short time to combat large amount of patients flooding in is unrealistic, let’s trust each other, care and look after each other by distancing for a month or two, which is relatively. Let’s stay in touch through technology and bear up this for a while so we can hug each other even more when it’s all over. 15% off through our online shop, enter code easter2020 at check out. Together, we can! #makeconnections #trust #care #socialresponsibility #socialdistancing #indigo #handdyed #stitchersofinstagram #takecareofyourself #bethechange #plantdyed #slowlife #slowstitching

24.01.2022 Day 3 didn’t have much progress apart from beek, crown and part of chest. My cat and dog took over my work place and hard to disturb them so it was a slow day. Picking colours was challenging though as the original bird is large dark olive but have to use taupe to fit the quilt this block is going to be part of. Also took me a while to decide what texture of bird I’d like to do. Trish Burr’s birds are very refined which I love to just watch and appreciate but somehow don’t q...uite fit what I want to do. And I can’t say exactly how I want to depict so here it is. A true work-in-progress piece. And so far so good. Used 2 strands of thread and long/short stitch. Stitch size mostly 3-5mm which is quite large. I guess perhaps I am a bit under pressure to hand in my work in a couple of days too my wish is purely to add some comfort to Barb who is fighting against breast cancer. See more

22.01.2022 #facemask . This one is made from a pattern by craftpassion.com. There is a big gap on top between face and mask. Quite tight at the bottom between chin and mask... Don’t feel it fit well but it looks good, esp. with #handdyed #shibori fabric from our shop. The pattern has sizes for kids as well. So it may be helpful for you. #staysafe #makeconnections #indigo #plantdye #careforeachother #takecare #handmade #bethechange #slowlife

19.01.2022 #seventreasures is one of my favourite patterns. Made two kitchen cloth lately. Very soothing and healing following those curvy lines. #lovetradition #handmade #handmadehomedecor #sashiko #stitchersofinstagram #darumathread #handprintedfabric #stayhome #bethechange #slowstitching

16.01.2022 Part 2 of #freehandembroidery of one of Megumi Onoe’s design. Experience of freedom #handmade #handembroidery #floralembroidery #slowstitching #slowlife #bethechange #freedom #stitchersofinstagram

16.01.2022 From Eagle on the Hill to the Mt Lofty Summit today. Didn’t arrive the summit though was a very enjoyable walk. #lovenature #wildflowers #nativeplants

13.01.2022 #facemask . Tried a few patterns from Internet yesterday but this one I adapted from FB seems to be the easiest and quickest to make. I used hand dyed fabrics from our shop but any fabrics would do. Masks made from fabrics are not the same as medical level masks as there is no filters to go against virus but can stop me rubbing my nose etc. Just try to stay safe and be prepared #makeconnections #careforeachother #handmade #indigo #naturaldye #trust #lovenature #bethechange #slowlife #takecare

13.01.2022 First time using bright Daruma Rainbow thread. On Olympus sampler with persimmon flower hitomezashi pattern. Looks a bit busy I think. How do you think? #sashiko #stayhome #brightcolors #daruma #persimmonflower #hitomezashi #slowstitching #stitchersofinstagram

12.01.2022 #vintagefabrics gifted to me by an inspiring and kind friend/client. Stunning and precious. Have been feeling so blessed! Cannot remember how many times they were unpacked then packed up again just for appreciation... So beautiful! #feelingblessed #lovetradition #vintagecrafts #vintagejapanese

12.01.2022 Day 2 is all about leaves. Tried to use taupe colours chosen by the scheme of quilt that this block is gonna be part of. #longandshortstitch #outlinestitch and variation on chain stitch are used. #whiteeyed #bird #handembroidery #lovenature #supporteachother #kindness

11.01.2022 AQC is postponed to 20st-23rd August due to the quick spread of Coronavirus. It feels both sad and relieved. Stay home and stay well. This short term pain will reward us with long term enjoyment of crafts #stitchersofinstagram #seekunderstanding #staywell #indigo #handdyed #plantdye #botanicaldye #applique #handmade #lovenature #bethechange #slowlife #slowstitching #mindfulness

10.01.2022 A block for Barb who is battling against breast cancer. She loves Aussie native floral and fauna so here it is. Original by Lynne Cooke. Day 1 sees pattern printed on medium thick linen fabric and stems stitched. #lovenature #australiannatives #bird #whiteeyes #gumtrees #handembroidery #supporteachother #kindness

07.01.2022 I was hit by #kindness today. A lady up in QLD picked up #sashiko lately and had made some beautiful and sweet hankies, as you can see. An order came in today from her. We are running #promotion at the moment which has details on website but that order didn’t have promo code applied. I asked her if she would like refund on those discounted or would like pick some more items without additional charges. She said she needed nothing and she was aware of the discount and she just ...wanted to help me. I was speechless. Out of bad there is always good. Within this big wave of virus which made shows postponed and classes cancelled, long queue in front of Centrelink and supermarket stripped off, I see this beautiful heart and #lovingandkindness as precious as gem. I love you Yumiko, please take care. And love to you all my friends in craft, #takecare See more

05.01.2022 #freehandembroidery of one of Megumi Onoe’s design. I didn’t follow exactly her colour arrangement but used more of lighter shades instead I also left more space amongst petals. an organic process to use free hand embroidery stitch but can also be challenging as freedom isn’t that easy to handle sometimes #handmade #handembroidery #floralembroidery #slowstitching #slowlife #bethechange #freedom #stitchersofinstagram

05.01.2022 Didn’t realize pic in previous post were not taken correctly by Instagram. Some of pattern is chopped! There you go again. Enjoy

03.01.2022 Day 4 - working on the belly, back and started feather. Mixed colour of thread for better blending of colour. Also switched direction of stitching on feather to get nice texture At the same time thinking of how to add #yingyang element into bird which will be explained later. #australiannatives #whiteeyed #gumtrees #taupe #handembroidery #supporteachother #kindness

03.01.2022 Pop-up shop tomorrow and Sunday #handmade #naturaldye #plantdyed #indigo #bethechange #sashikostitching #slowstitching #slowlife #makeconnections #lovenature

02.01.2022 Another #visiblemending with #sashiko. A well loved jeans got a hole above knee when worn so a patch of fabric is used to reinforce jeans. #sashikostitching is to secure the patch and add some characters to it. #diamondwave pattern is dense enough which also adds strength to it what #pattern do you use for mending? All materials and tools available in our website. #slowlife #bethechange #handdyedfabric #naturaldye #slowstitching
