24.01.2022 After the election, there has been very high demand from ACSA members to show transparency and reveal the expenses of election 2020. We displayed the high level cost of election, however, we were pressured to reveal the detail cost breakdown. Below snap shot from Receivers Report submitted to Court. The cost incurred during the receivership from 12 July to 18 October for arranging election. Note that $10,101 has been donated (Sponsorship) by Mr Anwar sahib Mangal and Dr Aslam Shinwari. Thanks to Eng Daqeeq, Mr Kabir Ibrahimi, Anwar sahib Mangal and Dr Shinwari and all the volunteers for their dedication, tireless hard work and sacrifices in managing election 2020.

24.01.2022 ACSA Election 2020 Candidate - Shams Wasseh nominating as Treasurer Haji Sham's hard work and dedication to serve our community has been well noted in the past... 6 years. Started as an executive member in 2014, the passion to volunteer for our community has led him to be the Treasurer of the Association in 2017. His unique accounting and social skills have increased the asset of the association by over 50% in just 4 years and growing while ensuring all financial reporting has gone through independent auditing process before presented in association’s annual general meetings. Not only managing the treasury department of the association, Haji Shams is also currently working on the construction of our funeral home and achieving cost savings and efficiencies due to his extensive experience in building industry. Haji Sham's plan for next term is to complete construction phase of funeral home, make it operational and introduce an innovative accounting systems (Xero) for our association for financial management.

20.01.2022 ACSA Election 2020 Candidate - Qudsia Sediqi nominating as Ordinary Member of the Committee of Management Education Affairs Qudsia was born in Kabul, Afghanist...an. She completed high school at Rabia Balkhi in Kabul and went on to University graduating in Economics. Qudsia then migrated to Pakistan for 2 years and from here moved to Australia in 1991. In Australia Qudsia completed certificate III at Meadowbank Tafe. She held a career in the childcare industry for many years as a childcare teacher. Further to this, Qudsia has been a passionate volunteer of the Afghan Community working in Community Language Schools for over 20 years. During this time she has also successfully completed a certificate in Language Teaching at the University of Sydney. Qudsia’s main goal and focus has been to help students fluently read and write in their native language as well as understand and respect their Afghan heritage and culture. Seeing these students display such values has given Qudsia the strength to continue volunteering on this amazing journey. As well as this Qudsia has been involved in organising a monthly community mother’s group event. The focus of this project was to able to assist and benefit women in any areas required. This program included topics such as health, religion, reading and writing. It is also a time for the women in the community to come together and show their support for one another. Qudsia’s plan for the near future is to create programs for all Afghan mother’s and children to attend on a weekly basis to connect with our community. The group to meet once a week at a set location in both Merrylands and Blacktown. The aim of this group is for both mothers and children to spend quality time with each other and socialise within the Afghan community. Programs to be included but not limited to are hands on activities, songs and cooking. Both mothers and kids will be involved and further ideas are welcome. Qudsia looks forward to continue working with the community and in particular with the women and students with a aim to build a brighter future for our community. 19.01.2022 ACSA Election 2020 Candidate - Walid Popal as Ordinary Member of the Committee of Management Youth and Sports Mohammad Walid Popal has been an enduring member o...f the Afghan Community Support Association (ACSA) for over ten years. While living in Sydney, Australia since 1991, Walid Popal has achieved the completion of High School Certificate at Blacktown Boys High School, a Diploma in Business, Financial Services and Management. Currently, Walid Popal maintains a full-time position as a distribution officer while operating Walid’s Sports Clothing, a small business. He maintains a highly disciplined work-life balance in the midst of dedicating time to volunteer for ACSA. During his tenure as ACSA Youth and Sports coordinator, Walid has managed to organise the following activities for our community; Youth talks weekly - subject to Islamic and social issues The UNITY Soccer Tournament, The Father and Son camping program, Family Camping events, Assembling volunteers for Eid prayer and mosque open days, cleaning services for the mosque in addition to integrating technology for seamless interaction with current affairs via Facebook. As ACSA Youth and sports coordinator, Walid Popal has developed plans that will inaugurate the T20 cricket tournament for our youth of the community, ACSA Kids Unity Cup, Family Gala day, basketball and volleyball tournaments as well as a community-led Eid Festival. Walid Popal’s goal is simple - to integrate and provide opportunities for the youth to participate in events relating to the Afghan community willingly and keep them connected to their community to build a brighter future.

14.01.2022 ACSA hall is a key location where our community unit during many types of events. The hall is well maintained and has been improved with modern equipment. The hall is located opposite our mosque at 14 fifth avenue, Blacktown NSW 2148 and available for hire for nika, eid gatherings, fatiha, and many other events. We also provide catering service at a very affordable price. All the fees will go back to our mosque and maintenance activities to keep improving community assets.

13.01.2022 ACSA Election 2020 Candidate - Farid Soltani nominating as Ordinary Member of Committee of Management Islamic Affairs Farid has been in Australia since his y...outh and has had the opportunity to learn from elders and the young of many cultures around the world. He has travelled to almost every continent and major cities in Australia helping people to get to know Allah (swt) and live with hope purpose and enthusiasm. He is currently completing his bachelor of Islamic Studies but also has experience in the fields of social and youth work, psychology and addictions, science, environmental sustainability and he also understands five languages. From San Francisco street food vendor to defender of the peace, Farid's unique skills and experience have given him the opportunity to work with ACSA to bring together young and old, parents and children, husband and wife, leaders and community, this life and the hereafter.

08.01.2022 ACSA Election 2020 Candidate - Haji Babrak Karmand nominating as Ordinary Member of the Committee of Management Building Maintenance Haji Babrak arrived in Aus...tralia 1992 and even since has been working in building industry. Haji Babrak is highly experienced builder who assisted building Hazrat Osman (ra) Masjid. His commitment and dedication in community work have led him to be elected as an Executive Member of ACSA in 2014. Haji Babrak has been in charge of building and maintenance of the masjid and community halls. Over the past 6 years, he developed a maintenance plan for routine inspections of all ACSA asset. He is willing to continue contributing to our community and establish a sub-committee of tradies who will be more frequently maintaining our growing assets. See more

05.01.2022 ACSA Election 2020 Candidate - Nader Azamy nominating as President Al Haj Azamy’s charitable efforts date back to his years before arriving to Australia in the... early 90’s, where he assisted with the establishment of schools in refugee camps throughout Pakistan as a teacher trainer. His efforts to serve the community continued after his arrival to Sydney in 1992. Locally, he established after-hours Afghan Schools for the Afghan youth in Sydney and by 1995 he had established two Afghan schools attracting large numbers of students to his classes. Haji Nader was elected as ACSA president in 2010 to work towards construction of the Hazrat Osman Mosque in Blacktown NSW. It is apparent that throughout his life Haji Nader has had consistent dedication to serving his community both locally and globally. His ongoing goal is to help provide further services to the local Afghan community in Sydney and help the needy in Afghanistan. Haji Nader’s hard work, love and dedication to his community has been well noted throughout many successful projects making positive changes in our community. His next dream is to start the leg work of establishing our own biggest asset near our Mosque to have our own age care centre, In-shaa-Allah.

03.01.2022 ACSA Election 2020 Candidate - Maria Atai nominating as Ordinary Member of the Committee of Management Women's Affairs My name is Maria Atai, a dedicated, proa...ctive and committed member of the Afghan Community in Sydney. I was born in the beautiful city of Kabul, Afghanistan. As a child, I immigrated to Iran and grew up in the city of Bandar Abbas. I have completed my elementary and high school followed with a diploma in health and childhood in Iran. I have been living in Sydney for almost 15 years and like many other new settlers I too encountered numerous challenges when I came to Australia, but had to start from scratch. As a mother of three children, I managed to overcome all the obstacles in establishing myself well. Due to other commitments and for personal reasons I could not work instead I studied nursing and physiotherapy at Wetherill Park and Granville TAFE. I am currently working at a Dental clinic. I have a passion to contribute to my community. For many years have been voluntarily working as a Teacher at Sayed Jamaluddin Afghan an ethnic community school. I am an active member of the Afghan Australia Support Association of NSW leading the women affairs committee of the association. As part of my community involvement I wish to assist women as follows: 1. I try to att and solve the various problems women encounter and experience particularly the new settlers in my State. 2. I facilitate sessions to support women with depression and teaching them the preventative measures on how to combat depression. 3. I coordinate some day trip excursions to women in the community. 4. In general I have a desire to help all my fellow community members and others. It is my nature to respect and treat everyone equally regardless of their race, colour and religious or ethnic background. I consider myself as honest, determined, committed member of the association and the Afghan community.

03.01.2022 ACSA Election 2020 Candidate - Mansur Mansuri nominating as Secretary Mansur was born in Kabul. After migrating to various lands, Mansur studied schooling in In...dia and Uzbekistan and finally settled in Australia and completed his university in the field of electrical engineering and currently working in a management role at an energy industry. Apart from work, Mansur is a dedicated and passionate volunteer worker. His focus on community collaboration has led him to a number of volunteer opportunities and community leadership roles. His multi-lingual skills and stakeholder management skills have allowed him to build a strong relationship with other associations and communities. In June 2014, Mansur was elected as Board Member of ACSA, taking leading roles in our association representing the community. In the past 6 years, Mansur has developed experience managing the secretarial affairs of our association and learned about the needs of our community. He is ambitious with plans to drive positive changes in our community; 1. As a high priority, Mansur is planning to engage legal professionals to complete drafting of our new constitution. He understands the legal requirements, knows the stakeholders and understands the needs of our community. 2. There are many afghan youth in Correction Centres and Prisons. Mansur has been working with NSW Government to develop rehabilitation projects for our youth who are in Correction Centres/Prisons. He has supported multiple youth of our community to come out of the correction centres. He has accommodated and helped them to return to their families and the society. 3. To help our youth with their career path and job search, he has been working to develop a leadership and mentoring program with a plan to connect professional members of our community with our youth with an objective to guide our youth at the early stages of their career decision making journey. Mansur’s plans are realistic and specific to the needs of our community. He is energetic and experienced to drive positive changes in our community to build a brighter future.

02.01.2022 ACSA Election 2020 Candidate - Tamim Anwaryar nominating as Vice President Al-Haj Tamim was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. Al-Haj Tamim migrated to Sydney in 1978.... Upon arrival, Al-Haj Tamim was one of the founding members of the first Afghan association in Australia. During his time in Australia, Al-Haj Tamim completed a business management course, working in various roles in the hospitality, retail and computing industries. Over the past 10 years, Al-Haj Tamim has been an executive member of the Afghan Community Support Association (ACSA) performing the roles of Secretary and Media and Public Relations. Furthermore, for nearly 20 years, Al-Haj Tamim provided Islamic guidance, tour guides, and hospitality services for community members to complete their Hajj and Umrah, as well as travelling to various religious destinations. Al-Haj Tamim has successfully completed 33 Hajj and Umrah trips. In addition, Al-Haj Tamim was a scripture teacher for 7 years teaching the Islamic faith to primary school students.
