23.01.2022 Even though we had a bad start, we knew the potential of the group to go all the way. #AfghanYouth First game was a lesson for us to learn from our mistakes that caused the team to go down 6-1 to Maiwand (Adelaide). The performance of the boys couldn’t get any better in the second round of the group stages, by displaying a resounding performance and going on to win 3-0 against Wahdat (Brisbane). Due to unfortunate circumstances and the heat, we’ve lost some quality playe...rs to injuries but that didn’t stop the team from displaying a top quality performance. The third game was very crucial for us as it required a win or draw to move us to the round of 16. The result of the game was decided in the dying seconds of the match as the team was able to score a late last minute free kick to equalise the game and ensure us a spot in the final 16. I’m very proud of the teams effort and the professionalism shown during the past few days and I know we have the potential to keep moving forward with the high quality of players present in our team. Please come down support the boys tomorrow at 12pm as they are playing against Brisbane All Stars!!!!!! 23.01.2022 It was a fight for the glory spot in semi-finals against a tough opponent Afghan Premiers, the boys fought hard to keep the lead 2-1 in the second half and clenching a win at the end. We will be playing Pak Hazara next for a spot in the finals. We would like to congratulate Pak Hazara for winning against Azadi Sydney in penalties shootouts. Final four will be played tonight at 8:00pm and we would like everyone to come and support the boys. 21.01.2022 Hi everyone, I hope you guys are doing well. Afghan Youth would like to thank everyone for their outstanding efforts to make end of year tournament a memorable year so far. A special thanks to our coach Ghulam alizada coming all the way from Brisbane to lead our team step by step as far as he could throughout the tournament with his knowledge of the game and players. ... We would like to thank to some of the players who came all the way from other states like Fahim Moradi, Omar Sidiqi and Aref Nazari for their full commitment to the team as a player throughout the tournament. This lads have put in their percent performance in every game and given the opportunity to become more closer to the Afghan Youth family. 03.01.2022 Exciting talent 12 year old Yaser payendeh a young and talented player from our community has been signed for Melbourne Victory academy! Started career at Hampton park 2014-2017 Berwick City 2018 and 2019, was selected for Melbourne victory pre academy for south east region in 2019 and was invited at the... trials for under 13s. Now has successfully completed trials at Melbourne victory who have signed him for the upcoming seasons ahead! Wish him all the best for a bright future ahead and would like to encourage all the young talents to take similar path ways to reach results.
