16.01.2022 Tennis Elbow also know as Lateral epicondylalgia is a common overuse injury from grip sports repetitive lifting and computer work resulting in pain on the outer aspect of the elbow. An estimated 40% of people will experience this at some point throughout their life, primarily between the ages of 35 and 54 years (Bisset & Vicenzino, 2015). Tennis elbow can be managed effectively through specifically targeted exercise (see @vicksterdpt), deloading tape and manual therapy

07.01.2022 Are you stuck at a computer all day, having tension and pain through your upper back and neck? Its possible that your posture and desk setup may be part of the cause. The Upper Cross Syndrome theory has become quite popular with todays society progressing to a sedentary nature, particularly with the "42-lbs. Head" graphic demonstrated by Erik Dalton (https://erikdalton.com/blog/upper-cross-controversy/)- see below- where every inch the head moves forward results... in an increased feeling of head weight by 10-lbs. Here are a few tips for posture and computer desk setup to reduce the postural strain: 1. Upright posture (ears in line with shoulders and hips) 2. Forearms supported and wrists neutral 3. Hips and knees at approximately 90 deg (right angles) 4. Feet flat on ground 5. Top of computer screen at eye level 6. Take regular breaks!!! Our bodies dont like sitting in any posture (good or bad) for prolonged periods of time, it likes regular movement! So... take regular breaks and keep moving!!! Heres our lovely receptionist getting some practice in our office chair #posture #posturecorrection #midback #posturalexercises #bowlingball #desksetup @ AFIA Physiotherapy
