09.01.2022 You may think that one little piece of paper doesn't mean that much...you may think... ["I've looked at their before & after photos and like what I see; so I'll go there] And you may be lucky; you may have a perfect experience; HOWEVER... What you may not know is that every individual cosmetic tattoo artist is obligated to to have their own 'Personal Appearance Services Licence' approved with their local council PRIOR to performing tattoo treatments.... This licence also needs to be clearly visible in the clinic for you [the client] to check at any time. In order to have this licence there are certain qualifications that we [the artists] need to have in order to be eligible for this particular licence. The artist who holds this licence has had to have passed the following criteria: Completing a recognised and accredited course in Cosmetic Tattoo (this should be visible in clinic) Completing a recognised and accredited course in Infection Control & Hygiene (also visible in clinic) Completed inspections and approval on the exact space [& room] that they will be providing this service This is also not a 'once off' licence; therefore it is also critical to check each of the following key information points on the licence: The name of the person on the licence is your particular artist The address is the exact one at which you are receiving your treatment that same day (note: every time a business moves it is obligated to update this immediately; and is unable to perform tattoo services until this is done) The date is valid with your current date of service and is not expired by even one day! What this means for YOU? This is ALL of the HIGHEST IMPORTANCE as it means you are in the safest hands possible and your artist has not cut corners in order to have your business. (**or what else do they cut corners on?? ) If you request to see this licence and they cannot simply point it out on the wall; or worse; not even provide it... our advice... WALK OUT!
