A tie to Janaya Kopp and Kristin Remfrey for the women's top honour; the Yeperenye Margaret Liddle Medal, while 16-year-old Tyrell Martin picked up three awards and Toshie Kunoth won two. 17.01.2022 Full Time Macdonnell Regional Council CAFL Under 18 Boys Grand Final: Papunya 12.11.83 defeated Yuendumu 4.4.28. Following an incredible display of passion from both teams, Papunya have come out on top against the Magpies. Today's win for Papunya continues their 3-0 wins against Yuendumu this season, their most recent win coming just two weeks ago in the Qualifying Final. 09.01.2022 Full Time Central Desert Regional Council CAFL Senior Men's Division 1 Grand Final: Ltyentye Apurte 12.10.82 defeated Western Arrente 7.7.49 The Saints capped off a great year - after only losing one game all season - to take a comfortable 33 point win over the Bulldogs. Western Arrente were impressive with their ball skills, but couldn't convert this to scoring shots against a formidable opponent in the Saints. Ltyentye Apurte won the Country League in 2019 and will now take today's flag back to their community to share it proudly with the entire Saints Family. Well done to both Grand Final teams on making it to the big dance today #territoryfooty

A huge congratulations goes to Janaya Kopp from Pioneer and Kristin Remfrey from Rovers for winning the Margaret Liddle Medal for being voted equal best and fairest in the CAFL Yeperenye Shopping Centre Senior Women’s competition in 2020. Both played in their clubs’ eight games for the season and began their footy journeys less than five years ago. For Janaya, tonight’s recognition goes hand-in-hand with her Leading Goalkicker prize in 2019 and for Kristin it tops her season off with the ultimate double; premiership and best and fairest. #territoryfooty

05.01.2022 Our dear friend Karen Schneider. A tireless, passionate and active member of the NT sporting community, Kaz was a true supporter of AFL in the Northern Territory through our Thunder and Academy programs. Kaz epitomised such a fighting spirit in recent years and we were honoured to have named one of our Thunder Women's Club Champion Awards in her honour the Most Courageous Award which she was able to present the past couple of years. Kaz touched the lives of so many Terri...torians who we all share our grief with. The Chair, CEO, staff and extended AFLNT family, expresses its deepest condolences to Karen's family, staff of Territory Sports Medicine and her many friends. Rest in peace Karen.

05.01.2022 ICYMI, yesterday the BiG RiVERS Football League also crowned its Men's and Women's premiers! In the women's, the new kids on the block, the Arnhem Crows Football Club had an impressive 15.13.93 to 3.3.21 win over Katherine South. Ashanti Bush backed up her big Under 18s performance at the NAB All-Stars game on Friday night by taking home the best on ground medal less than 24 hours later. In the men's, it was a tight contest until the last quarter where Katherine South Sports Club pulled away to defeat the Katherine Camels, and stop their chances at going back-to-back with a 13.4.82 to 6.11.47 victory. Well done to Jeffrey McDonald who picked up the Morris Medal for best on the ground! Well done to everyone on a big season and thank you for persisting in this unique year. #territoryfooty

The Eagles had a burst of fight early in the second half with a few quick goals, but the Magpies proved too strong, taking home the 2020 Flag with a 61 point win.
