24.01.2022 The Mayne Tigers Come and Try for the new Women's team was well attended last Tuesday night with everyone enjoying a training session with some of the Senior Me...n's team following an information session. Congratulations Will... from the U14s Victoria Point Sharks JAFC who was diagnosed with a serious heart condition at birth (TOF) which affects blood flow through the heart as well as multiple holes in his heart, resulting in extensive open heart surgery and complications. What an absolutely incredible achievement to see this legend reach 100 games on the 12th anniversary of this major surgery. Open for a...ll children aged 5 12 years of age and for all skill levels, the program is designed to learn the basic skills of AFL while playing games and having as much FUN as possible. The program will run for 8 weeks during terms 1 and 2, while having a break for Easter. Oscar was in NICU for the first 6 months of his life. With milestone & development delays we continued and still do today attend many specialists appointments. Oscars passion in life is AFL. Its his 100% happy place in life when he is reading, playing or watching football. With Oscars early development delays and ongoing development difficulties Oscars passion for football has helped him with his anxiety disorders, learning disabilities occupational therapy and much more. Oscars passion & obsession for football started at a young age collecting all the AFL football cards every year & remembering all the players, and then starting Auskick at the age of 5. He has played every year from then. Footy has helped Oscar push through the hard days. He has found that spark to keep believing in something that brings you joy and something to enjoy that he can learn from to help build his confidence, social skills, speech, mental & physical health and play in a team sport with his brother.
