18.01.2022 It is with great regret but in keeping with so many events set for 2020, that our AFL Sunshine Coast Hall of Fame Committee have had to postpone the hyped 50 ye...ar celebration event of Sunny Coast Footy. This event as in 2010 & 2015 was to recognise those whom have made a wonderful commitment to our community footy; as player, coach, umpire, administrator or key volunteer. Added to the event and to celebrate the high level of on field play we were set to announce a Team of the Half Century - what a challenge that has been .... but most enjoyable. Stay tuned to our Sunshine Coast AFL Hall of Fame Facebook page as to when things start to swing positively post Corona-time.

18.01.2022 Footy is on the way back and here is start two for the Lions.

16.01.2022 As you may all be aware, due to COVID-19, 2020 has been a challenging year for everyone including staff in our local AFL Office on the Sunshine Coast. In light of restructuring we are saying farewell to Paul Tresise, Sharon Glover, Dayne Frew and Shannon Campbell. PT has been a prolific AFL identity on the Sunshine Coast and greater regions for 20+ years as a volunteer and employee. What PT has done for the region and so many is beyond words and we thank him from the bottom ...of our hearts for the blood, sweat and tears he has put into developing AFL on the Sunshine Coast and Wide Bay. With a long list of credentials it’s hard to know where to start so please start in the comments with your greatest PT memories. Frewy will still be working on the Sunshine Coast developing local AFL talent now employed by the Brisbane Lions as the Regional Manager of Talent. With 10+ years of service to footy on the Coast and Wide Bay, Frewy played an integral part in revamping our talent programs as well as firing up many Auskick centres for the next generation of superstars. Shazza has been a welcoming face in the Sunshine Coast Office for some time keeping PT organised and everyone else on task. You’ll no doubt still see Shaz around the footy traps so don’t be a stranger and say g’day. Shannon started her AFL journey on the Sunshine Coast and for the last two years has been looking after schools and clubs in the South as our Development Coordinator. Shan’s contributions to AFL School Programs and Female Participation on the Coast has been instrumental. Shan will still be playing footy for the mighty Lions next year so make sure you cheer her on We would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for everything they have contributed to AFL on the Sunshine Coast. Moving forward in regards to Game Development on the Coast and Stacey French will be seeing to Game Development Programs in the North, Luke Carroll will be joining the team in April 2021 to take care of the South and Damien Richards will be looking after all things Footy4Fun. #AFLSC | AFL Queensland

11.01.2022 With today's announcement that Stage 2 will commence from noon tomorrow, here's some important information for parents and carers, for once your child's group of 20 training is back up and running

10.01.2022 A solid first half from our Sunshine Coast / Wide Bay Lions Academy U16s had us a nose in front at the big break. Our footy in the first half was chaotic in just pushing the ball forward resulting in the scoreboard. On the other hand the boys of Brisbane South used the ball well whilst clinically going forward on enough occasions for a tight half time score line. The third quarter refreshed saw the Brissy South boys superior ball use result in a dominate third on the score b...oard. The final stanza a grind for our boys with a final deficit of some seven goals. Better players Caleb Silva, Riley McMillan, Dane Larsen, Trent Burchard, Jack Allen and Hunter Moore. That now marks the end of our Lions Academy program for 2020; some challenges for all but a great group of players and coaches. Special thanks to our coaches Jason Sherriff, Ben Jones, Brett Fragiacomo, Brett Maloney and Glenn Farrow.
