25.01.2022 Martin Frederick was picked up by Port Adelaide as a Category B Rookie in the rookie draft. Frederick has been a part of Port's Next Generation Academies owing to his South Sudanese background. Marty was part of the Eagles' under 18 SANFL premiership in 2018 and a member of the national championship-winning under 18 South Australian side. A local by every measure, Frederick played junior football for Portland, in the middle of Port Adelaide’s heartland. Let’s Celebrate Marty ...Frederick! 17.01.2022 Akec Makur Chuot was born on 5 September 1992 in South Sudan, the same year her father died. She was raised by her single mother in a family of seven and for twelve years they lived in Kakuma, refugee camp in Kenya. Her family was sponsored by their uncle and moved to Perth. She attended Aranmore Catholic College. In 2009, she tried AFL for the first time at an East Perth Football Club all-girls carnival. Chuot was drafted by Fremantle with their 18th selection and 139th over...all in the 2016 AFL Women's draft. She was also one of the AFL Multicultural Ambassadors for 2017. In 2018, she moved to Victoria to play with Carlton in the VFL Women's state competition. Akec played with Richmond in the VFL Women's in 2019 and signed for the club ahead of the 2020 AFL Women's season. Akec also works as Multicultural Development Officer- Victoria Promotions Female for the AFL. Let’s Celebrate Akec Makur Chuot!

12.01.2022 Darcy was born and raised in the Victorian town of Markwood near Wangaratta. Vescio began playing football with her brother at the age of five. She stopped playing competitive football at the age of fourteen, when she was no longer allowed to play with the youth boys team. Vescio started playing again at the age of eighteen, when she moved to Melbourne from her hometown of Wangaratta and joined the Darebin Falcons in the Victorian Women's Football League (VWFL). She won four ...premierships with the club in consecutive seasons from 2013 to 2016 and won the Lisa Hardeman Medal for best on ground performances in two of these matches in 2015 and 2016. Vescio represented Victoria at the AFL Women's National Championships in 2013 and 2015. She was drafted by the Western Bulldogs in 2014 and played for the club in exhibition series matches between 2014 and 2016. Vescio was signed as a marquee player by Carlton Football Club in July 2016, ahead of the league's inaugural 2017 season. She made her debut in round 1, 2017, in the club and the league's inaugural match at Ikon Park against Collingwood. She kicked a game-high four goals in the match. This was acknowledged by the AFL Players Association, highlighting Vescio as Player of the Week. In 2018, Vescio played VFLW with the Carlton Football Club and won the club's best and fairest. In the final round of the season, Vescio kicked 9 goals to claim the league's leading goal kicking award. Vescio is of Italian and Chinese heritage and is an AFL Multicultural Ambassador.
