Isla visited our Respiratory Infection Clinic last w...eek for a COVID-19 test after she was showing symptoms which meet the criteria for testing. The grade two student took us with her while she had her swab and told us what it felt like from a childs perspective. Thanksfully for Isla, her test came back negative. 11.01.2022 National Titles deferred to 2021 The AKF has just announced: "The Australian Karate Federation together with all State Federations has decided to postpone this ...years National Championships to a date to be confirmed in 2021. The 48th National Championships will be in Perth, Western Australia. This difficult decision is supported unanimously by the AKF Executive Committee together with the State Presidents from all our State Federations." Subject to State and Federal Government advice, the AKF intends holding the postponed 2020 Australian Open Championships in the third quarter of 2020, with dates to be confirmed as soon as possible. As such, it is with great regret and disappointment, that the QKA will not be conducting any State team activities this year. Also, and as a consequence, the QKA Executive will not be naming a State Coaching Panel at this stage. The Executive would like to thank all applicants for coaching positions. The applications were once again of a high calibre and will ensure the future Queensland team has excellent guidance in their endeavours. As previously advised, we continue to be hopeful that we will be able to hold our postponed State Titles later in the year - perhaps in the October/November time frame.
