17.01.2022 Tips to keep the waistline down while gyms are in lockdown #6 These scales are wrong Have you ever jumped on the scales and thought, these scales must be wron...g? You wonder how you could possibly weigh the same or (gasp) higher when you have been eating the right foods and exercising. Heres a really big tip... The scales are one of your worst measures of success. Thats right; they will do your head in! OK, OK, I do agree that yes, TV shows like the biggest loser do show some very inspirational weight changes, 30, 50, 70kg! Impressive stuff. Remember that your weight is heavily dependent upon fluid, muscles (that are 70% water), fat, and other vital parts. So, you need to include more accurate assessment of your body composition. However, your best measure of success will come with taking regular (4-6 week) assessments that give you greater, and more accurate snapshots of how much fat you are stripping! So, what are some of the best measures of success?

10.01.2022 I'm sure you will enjoy this. Harissa chicken, lentil and kale tray bake. Ingredients:... 3 small carrots, peeled, diagonally sliced 2 large red onions, cut into thin wedges 1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary leaves 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 2 tsp harissa paste 1 lemon, rind zested, juiced 1 garlic clove, crushed 8 (about 500g) chicken tenderloins, trimmed 400g can no-added-salt brown lentils, rinsed, drained 80g Coles Chopped Kale 160ml (2/3 cup) Massel salt reduced chicken style liquid stock 90g (1/3 cup) labneh, drained Preheat oven to 200C/180C fan forced. Line a large baking dish or tray with baking paper. Place the carrot, onion and rosemary in a prepared dish and drizzle with the oil. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until light golden and tender. Meanwhile, combine the harissa, 1 tbsp lemon juice and garlic in a shallow dish. Add the chicken and turn to coat. Set aside for 10 minutes to marinate. Place the lentils, kale and stock in the dish with the carrot mixture and stir to combine. Top with the chicken. Bake for a further 10-15 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Top with labneh and a little lemon zest. Season and serve.

Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats Ingredients... cup (160ml) plain Greek or Natural yogurt 1 cup (90g) rolled oats 1 cup (250ml) milk (dairy or plant/nut based) 2 tbsp chia seeds 2 tbsp flax seeds Pinch of salt 2 tbsp of 100% maple syrup Toppings 1 red apple, sliced 2 tsp almonds, finely chopped tsp cinnamon Method STEP 1 Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl. Spoon into a jar with a tight-fitting lid. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. STEP 2 Top with apple, almonds and ground cinnamon. Drizzle with syrup and serve.
